Destiny 2: More Details Datamined About Season 13's Exotic Quest
Season 13 has started out strong in Destiny 2, and is seemingly leaving a much better impression compared to Season of the Hunt. Season of the Chosen has brought with it not only a new activity, but also three Strikes. Two of them are returning Destiny 1 Strikes while the other, Proving Grounds, is new. Yet, one of the season's highlight activities is yet to be fully revealed by Bungie. That hasn't stopped the community from digging around in the game files to get a glimpse of the mysterious Exotic quest before it releases.
Bungie usually releases an Exotic quest each season in Destiny 2, with the last one being The Harbinger mission from Season of the Hunt. This mission was a bit different from what came before, as it had a long prelude and was meant to be repeatable, letting players farm different rolls of its Exotic reward, Hawkmoon. A similarly structured mission seems to be in the works for week three of Season of the Chosen.
According to the datamines, it will be called Presage and take place on the desolate Cabal ship called Glykon. The full experience will take place across many weeks, with players revisiting the ominous ship to piece together a mysterious story involving its captain, the cargo, and the Darkness. The questline will eventually reward an Exotic Kinetic Scout Rifle called Dead Man's Tale, reminiscent of the No Man's Land from Destiny 1. A number of major pieces of media related to the quest have been uncovered so far by dataminers.
This unique level-action rifle will have a perk called Cranial Spike that increases damage and reload speed as the player acquires precision hits. It will also have a catalyst, supposedly called Dark-Forged Trigger, that will grant the weapon the ability to fire rapidly and accurately from the hip. The Eververse Store will also offer an ornament for the weapon named Burial Wrap, which gives it a leathery blue finish.
Players are meant to revisit Presage multiple times, as it will have its own director node. The replayability will come from completing it on Master difficulty, finding all the clues and discoverables aboard, and other achievements. This mission will stay in the game until fall 2021, just like the Harbinger mission. As always, any of the details listed may not entirely be accurate for the final release since all of it is information players have gleamed from the game files. As of this writing, nothing has been officially disclosed by Bungie.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
