Pokemon GO: What Is The Season of Legends? | Game Rant
After three months of basically nonstop events and festivities, the Pokemon GO Season of Celebration is coming to a close. This marks the end of the first ever branded season in the mobile AR game and also triggers the first seasonal transition later this week. When February comes to a close, so to will the Season of Celebration, and it will be time for players to ring in the start of the Season of Legends in the game.
The Season of Legends sounds incredibly exciting and is full of very tempting new Pokedex entries, wild spawn rotations, and other changes that Pokemon GO players will be able to enjoy in the coming months. With that said, some casual players may be a bit confused about what exactly this change means and what seasons are in PoGO. Luckily, it's fairly simple and not even something that casual fans really need to concern themselves with all that much.
As a quick refresher, Pokemon GO seasons are just blocks of time (usually three months) that feature a set of spawns, Egg hatches, and themed events that are linked together. The Season of Celebration was all about looking back at all of the Pokemon generations in the game and celebrating with each of them. The Season of Legends comes next and is, as the name suggests, going to put a spotlight on some of the legendary aspects of the Pokemon franchise and carry that tone throughout the rest of the winter and the early spring.
"During the Season of Celebration, we got to explore and celebrate regions of the Pokémon world, all leading up to Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto! Now, we’re excited to announce the next Season: the Season of Legends!
From Legendary Pokémon to legendary Trainers, this Season will celebrate legends in Pokémon GO. The Season of Legends will run from Monday, March 1, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. to Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time!"
The Season of Legends is jam-packed with exciting bonuses for players to keep an eye out for and enjoy in the coming months. More details will arrive as the season kicks off, but here are some of the features to get things started...
This Season will start with some Legendary Pokémon making their Pokémon GO debut—Therian Forme Tornadus, Therian Forme Thundurus, and Therian Forme Landorus!
Starting March 1, different Mega-Evolved Pokémon will be appearing in Mega Raids, and other Mega-Evolved Pokémon will be making their Pokémon GO debut over the course of the Season.
As the seasons change, different kinds of Pokémon will be appearing in different habitats in the wild! For example, you might find Mantine or Frillish appearing near water, or maybe you’ll happen upon a Voltorb or Glameow while in the city! If you happen to be traversing near grassy and forested areas, you might find Hoppip floating peacefully in the air. These and many more Pokémon will be appearing more often in the wild, so keep a lookout and stay tuned for more details!
Pokémon like Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Budew, and more will be hatching from 2 km Eggs. Drowzee, Azurill, and Munna will be hatching from 5 km Eggs, and intrepid Trainers might find Nincada, Alomomola, and more hatching from 10 km Eggs! Stay tuned for more details.
Toward the start of the season, all Trainers will be able to access the Season of Legends Special Research. Follow Professor Willow as he makes exciting discoveries about Therian Forme Tornadus, Therian Forme Thundurus, and Therian Forme Landorus, the first three Legendary Pokémon featured during this Season. Complete this Special Research to earn Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus Candy as well as other rewards.
Now now, that's everything that has been revealed, but the season is sure to bring surprises over and over again as it progresses. Over the next week or so players should begin to learn a lot more about what other events are on the way throughout the Season of Legends. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
