Rainbow Six Siege Crimson Heist Operation Teased | Game Rant
After a very slow start all the way back in December 2015, Rainbow Six Siege has managed to turn into an absolute behemoth for Ubisoft. Currently, the development team at Ubisoft Montreal have continued to support the game with new content like operators and maps, while also fixing and balancing the core gameplay. That level of support has helped turn the game into a popular eSport experience and has managed to attract over 70 million registered users across all platforms.
Currently, Rainbow Six Siege is in the middle of its fifth year of content having just released season four back in December as well as smaller updates over the course of multiple weeks. In addition to a number of operator balancing, general gameplay improvements, as well as bug fixes, the biggest addition during Neon Dawn was the inclusion of the newest defender, Aruni. She's capable of locking down specific entry points using the Surya Gate laser grid over walls, doors, and windows and shocking players and gadgets alike.
As expected, Ubisoft has begun teasing the next seasonal update, known as Crimson Dawn. At this point, almost nothing is known about the season, though teases from the Rainbow Six Siege Twitter account have started to shed some light on the next operator. The animated image shows an individual with large red glasses wearing a hat and what appears to be a jacket. Embers and smoke can also be seen at the bottom of the image, potentially indicating something being burnt or cut into in front of him.
The other element that fans have latched on to are the palm trees in the background as well as the term heist. In terms of the palms, some fans are wondering if the Coastline map is getting reworked during this season. On the other hand, with the word Heist in the seasonal title as well as the heavy emphasis on getting a job done, some think that the Bank map could be the one Ubisoft focuses on reworking instead. Regardless, Crimson Heist will likely follow the one new operator standard that Neon Dawn established previously.
For many of these online titles, especially for those that are free to play, anti-cheat methods remain vitally important for the long term health of the game. While Rainbow Six Siege continues to recieve new updates on a regular basis, as well as a free next generation upgrade for users with a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, Ubisoft continues to step up its anti-cheat to ensure the experience remains as fair as possible. Last year alone, the company banned over 90,000 cheaters using its BattlEye detection software. The recent developer blog also indicated that this is an ongoing process as the studio provides as much context to fans as it can without actually giving away the complete picture to what it does.
Rainbow Six Siege is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
