Call of Duty Fan Recreates Weapon Using LEGO | Game Rant
LEGO artists can be some of the more creative designers out there. There are so many creators who have remade things with LEGO both physically and digitally for the world to see, like when a Knives Out scene was remade via LEGO last year. The most recent example of LEGO mixed with a creative medium is Call of Duty.
Call of Duty has a swatch of creative opportunities, and recently a LEGO artist chose a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapon to recreate. There are plenty of XM4 loadout options in Black Ops Cold War, as it is perhaps the most balanced assault rifle in the game. And although there are many beloved weapons in the game, the XM4 assault rifle also has a very distinct look to it, making it an excellent choice to create in LEGO form.
Reddit user u/saladass146 uploaded a post on r/blackopscoldwar showing off his LEGO design of the XM4 assault rifle from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone. It looks incredibly accurate, nailing the barrel, magazine, sights, and stock. The user posted three images, and the second and third images are the ones that give the LEGO weapon its perspective.
The LEGO XM4 is being held in the final two pictures, and it is life-size, which is truly impressive for multiple reasons. The fact that it is the size of what a real-life XM4 would be means that it took quite some time to put together, as well as plenty of LEGO pieces to construct. Additionally, it can be held as if it were a real XM4, making it a very unique piece of art.
According to additional comments in the post, u/saladass146 says that the project took him two days to complete. The design is based on a 30-round magazine, and the LEGO magazine itself can actually be taken out of the XM4. The XM4 may not be a god-tier type weapon in Black Ops Cold War, but it is very solid and has an iconic look. For the sake of recreating for LEGO purposes, it is a very good choice.
There are plenty of properties that deserve the full LEGO treatment from an adaptation perspective, but creators are filling the gap in the meantime. Whether it be LEGO Call of Duty weaponry, Knives Out scenes, other video games and movies such as The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Doom, Red Dead Redemption, and so on and so forth, there are artists who take the time to make endless amounts of wonderful creations with LEGO, and have been doing so for a very long time.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
