Eyes of Tomorrow Will Get Fixed in Next Destiny 2 Update
Bungie's MMO looter-shooter Destiny 2 is as popular as ever. The passionate fanbase has donned the mantle of Guardian since the original title released in 2014, eagerly defending humanity in its hour of need. Sometimes, that defense may be crippled by a few bugs that sneak through, but Bungie is consistently keeping its fingers on the pulse of the title.
The passionate fanbase can result in some confusion, looking at the titles and expansions for Destiny 2 from the outside. Multiple expansions have poor reviews, stemming from fans focusing on Bungie's decisions during that time period. Other times, frustrating bugs that crop up during play can offer negative reviews as well, such as The Eyes of Tomorrow.
Bungie has announced today during its This Week At Bungie blog that the Eyes of Tomorrow will be fixed in the upcoming update. The update is scheduled for March 23, in patch number 3.3.1.1. This is not the only patch coming to the loved rocket launcher, however: Bungie notes that Bad Luck Protection (BLP) was improperly applied to characters resulting in the weapon not dropping.
Bad Luck Protection is the idea that all players will be able to receive a specific drop after a certain number of clears. Each clear that the weapon does not drop, the drop rate is exponentially increased (based on weekly clears) until the drop is guaranteed (at which point the timer resets). The studio notes that BLP was erroneously only attached to characters, instead of account-wide. This meant that the weekly reset would occur for each character, yet BLP would only increase once per week for one character. The fix will be retroactively applied.
The rocket launcher in Destiny 2 called The Eyes of Tomorrow is favored among players, yet a bug has rendered the weapon to cause less damage to mini bosses, such as those found within Lost Sectors. Players also reported the rocket launcher doing less damage to bosses, although Bungie notes it was unable to recreate the error in playtesting. Once the patch drops, the favored Exotic weapon will have its damage values fixed against mini-bosses, and drop rates for the weapon will resume as Bungie intended.
The Destiny 2: Beyond Light Exotic-tier weapon has found heavy play among many late-game Guardians with powerful perks. Adaptive Ordinance is a perk that increases the damage of a character's next salvo if the prior resulted in at least four kills. The weapon can be found as the final chest within the Deep Stone Crypt raid, one of the hardest raids that Destiny 2: Beyond Light has to offer.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
