Genshin Impact Players Need to Be Wary Before Farming Yanfei, Eula
Fans of Genshin Impact will likely be excited to see two new characters enter the fray. Eula, a four-star Pyro Catalyst, and Yanfei, a five-star Cryo Claymore user. Unfortunately, eager fans will have to hold off their excitement as Eula and Yanfei will require new materials to ascend. The duo is slated to join Genshin Impact in the 1.5 Update.
In a popular Reddit post, user Hikuran shared a screencap from Genshin Impact displaying the materials required for both Yanfei and Eula. While some of the materials should be familiar to players, there are a few never seen before ones that players are not looking forward to gathering. Luckily, diligent users that have been collecting materials constantly should be in a good position to level-up the new characters, but others are dreading the grind.
While players will have to wait to figure out the best method to gather the new materials, they can begin to gather the materials that are already in the game. To ascend Eula, for instance, players will want to learn how to gather Dandelion Seeds in Genshin Impact. For players looking to prepare, the best way to gather Dandelion Seeds is to head to the Mondstadt region as Sucrose. There, players can find groups of dandelions in the fields. Remember to use Sucrose, as her basic attack will knock up Dandelion Seeds easily.
While little of the lore behind the new characters has been fleshed out, previous leaks of the new Genshin Impact characters were accompanied by a bit of background information. Yanfei is described as a legal advisor from the Liyue Harbor with the "blood of an illuminated beast" running in her veins. Eula, called the "Spindrift Knight," is the captain of the Knights of Favonius' Reconnaissance Company. Right now, fans are speculating on the nature of the pair's abilities. Yanfei appears to have the potential to be a powerful Pyro DPS with a focus on charged attacks, echoing older Ningguang builds which were considered quite strong. Eula, a physical damage character, will likely depend on gaining stacks and chaining attacks to maximize her damage.
With fans expecting the release of Rosaria in Genshin Impact, many players began to feel the game was becoming oversaturated in Cryo-type characters. While the impending arrival of Eula does nothing to assuage this fear, patient fans will likely not have long to wait before the next Geo or Hydro release — the most underrepresented types in Genshin Impact. Until then, if this recent reveal can act as a lesson, players should continue to gather materials in preparation for upcoming releases.
Genshin Impact is out now for mobile, PC, and PS4, and is in development for PS5 and Switch.
