KFC Gaming Throws Shade at Call of Duty Developers | Game Rant
Call of Duty: Warzone received a new update today called the Season 2 Reload that aimed to fix the game's weapon balancing that saw the meta favoring the AUG and FFAR. While the update did make changes to those two weapons, many fans are expressing dissatisfaction at some persisting problems with the game's balancing, including KFC Gaming.
KFC Gaming began back in June when KFC announced that it was going to launch its very own KFC game console that doubles as a chicken warmer. While originally thought to be a spoof, KFC claims that both the console and its partnership to develop the product with global hardware manufacturer Cooler Master are very real. However, there has not been any official announcement of the console's release date or expected price point.
Despite the lack of news surrounding the KFC Console, KFC Gaming has remained very active as a blend of online marketing for the fast-food restaurant chain and gaming industry hot takes and opinions. It has built quite a following with 241,000 followers on Twitter and 111,000 on Instagram. Most recently, the account took aim at the developers of Call of Duty: Warzone to poke fun at them for the continued complaints of poor weapon balance and other bugs in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone despite the newest update, featuring a meme from Avengers: Endgame.
While KFC Gaming is primarily a marketing arm, it does highlight the complaints that have been extremely common within the Call of Duty: Warzone community, and may be indicative of how synonymous the issues are becoming with the game. Even popular streamer Dr Disrespect, who is well known for playing the game, got so enraged by Call of Duty: Warzone that he uninstalled it live on stream.
Call of Duty: Warzone recently released the Reload update of its Season 2 limited event, which added a lot of new content to the game while also trying to address the meta that has dominated the battle royale game since the season began. It is unfortunate timing for the game to have such continued issues with balancing, especially when its competitor Fortnite just recently started a well-received season that included some cool new features like dinosaurs. It also comes at a poor time as Call of Duty: Warzone seems to be hinting at some cool new reveals in the future since the new update dropped. Hopefully, the developers can properly re-balance the meta so the issues, and any shade thrown from fast-food restaurants, don't overshadow their future plans.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
