Legend of Zelda Fans Get 'Last Zelda Game' Trending | Game Rant
The Legend of Zelda is one of the oldest and one of the most influential adventure games to ever exist. Back when it first debuted on the Nintendo Entertainment System, The Legend of Zelda helped to define an entire genre of gaming in ways that hadn't been done before. Now, fans have cultivated an interesting way of celebrating the series, one that spooked unknowing fans quite a bit.
The original Legend of Zelda dates back all the way to 1986 and since that time, the series has expanded quite a bit. Some of the best games in The Legend of Zelda series have gone on to become beloved by members of the gaming community. Luckily, fans have developed a way of expressing what Zelda games fans have played and also highlight what game is their favorite and least favorite.
Over on Twitter, users have been posting what the first Zelda game they ever played was, along with what Zelda game they played most recently, referring to it as the 'Last Zelda Game,' and finally their favorite Zelda game and least favorite Zelda game. This got 'Last Zelda Game' trending, which understandably led a lot of fans to believe that Breath of the Wild 2 would be the last entry in the series.
'Last Zelda Game' was not in reference to the ending of the series, which many fans were thankful to find out. Although, it has certainly been a long while since fans of the series have heard any news regarding the continuation of the series. While many fans enjoyed Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, many would argue that it can't quite compare to the ambitions of the mainline series.
During the most recent Nintendo Direct, many fans were excited by the fact that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword would be getting an HD port to Nintendo Switch. This will give younger fans who didn't own a Wii a chance to experience the game for the first time, but there hasn't been any new official news regarding the development of Breath of the Wild 2.
The lack of information regarding the new Breath of the Wild installment could potentially be a good thing. After all, the very first Breath of the Wild had been delayed more times than Cyberpunk 2077 and it is one of the best-received games in the entire series. With any luck, fans will learn more about the newest entry in The Legend of Zelda series in the coming months.
