Street Fighter 5 CPT 2021 Premier Pass Revealed | Game Rant
Street Fighter 5 has had a challenging year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The fighting game is highly reliant on its year-round Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) esports schedule to keep excitement and player engagement high. The pandemic shut down most of those CPT events, hurting Street Fighter 5 while it was already in its waning years. However, Capcom hasn't given up on Street Fighter yet, as evidenced by the company revealing the upcoming CPT 2021 Premier Pass and its included DLC.
Each year Capcom releases a Premier Pass for the ongoing Capcom Pro Tour, the idea being that Street Fighter 5 players get some DLC while helping to support the costs of the current esports season. This year's Premier Pass is no different, launching on March 18 and costing players $19.99.
Included with the CPT 2021 Premier Pass are three new costumes, one for Seth, G, and a surprise character; while the year's new CPT stage is Ring of Galaxy. Each of these can be purchased separately, for those who don't want to spend $19.99 up front. Exclusively available in the Premier Pass are new character colors for all 45 members of the roster, five titles, two fighter profile themes, and a bonus of 10,000 fight money.
The CPT 2021 Premier Pass is in service of marketing the start of the Capcom Pro Tour. The start of the tour is now confirmed to begin on Saturday, April 17, and lasting through the 18. This first event will be just one of four online events in Japan. Overall, Capcom is planning 32 different events spread across 19 different regions, so while it may not be a normal season of Street Fighter 5, it will at least be happening.
