10 Most Breathtaking Locations In Fallout 4 | Game Rant

The Fallout series was pretty popular in its own right when Interplay Entertainment was at the helm of developing games for this IP. However, the series didn't achieve the mainstream success it truly deserved until Bethesda took over the reins. Their team ended up developing some truly brilliant 3D Fallout titles that breathed new life into this post-apocalyptic landscape.

All of a sudden, fans could witness firsthand just how eerily beautiful a post-nuclear wasteland could look. Fallout 4 turned this beauty all the way to the max, featuring some truly stunning locales that would stay in the minds of players long after they were finished. Keeping this in mind, here are ten of the most breathtaking locations one can find in the world of Fallout 4.

10 The Institute's Crisp Futurism

Players saw firsthand the harm and discord that Synths were causing all over the Commonwealth. After that, the last thing they expected the Institute to be was a clear, harmless-looking building without any problems whatsoever.

However, that's exactly what turned out to be the case. Several players found the winding corridors and clean aesthetic of this area surprisingly hypnotic to witness.

9 The Eerie Wreckage Of Libertalia

The idea of a raider settlement that is essentially a ship graveyard sounds rather odd. Yet, the masterful manner in which Libertalia is set up easily makes it a highlight of the entire game.

Roaming around these ship wreckages and taking care of the threats that lie within proves to be highly entertaining. Both the experience and the setting itself will definitely stick with fans long after they've completely cleared out this area.

8 The FMS Northern Star And Its Haunting Stories

Speaking of shipwrecks, another area in Fallout 4 featuring such a structure also ends up being one of the more memorable experiences in the entire game. A big part of this is due to the lore attached to this area.

This wreck is home to a bunch of Norwegian raiders who got stranded in the Commonwealth after the bombs were dropped. These unfortunate souls ended up turning into ghouls over time. The imposing nature of this structure and the stories that lie within make the Wreck of the FMS Northern Star one of the highlights of the game.

7 The Museum Of Witchcraft's Gothic Style

The Museum of Witchcraft is easily one of the more entertaining places to explore in the entire game. This is mainly due to the masterful nature of this level and the challenge the player finds here. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it's an absolute treat to witness firsthand.

The Deathclaw at the end of this level can prove to be a substantial challenge. However, defeating this beast and conquering the area once and for all easily serves as one of the highlights of Fallout 4.

6 Making a Friend At The Red Rocket Truck Stop

The first Red Rocket truck stop that players encounter in the game also allows them to meet the iconic Dogmeat. This allows the Sole Survivor to roam around with their trusted canine companion as they brave the dangers of the wasteland.

For Dogmeat alone, it goes without saying that this particular truck spot is easily one of the more notable areas in the entire game. Yet it also has a beauty of its own that can definitely be enhanced once the player builds a well-designed settlement here.

5 The Strange Beauty Of The Glowing Sea

The Glowing Sea is considered by many to be one of the more challenging areas in the entire game. It's an area suffering from permanent radiation, coupled with a noticeably large distribution of behemoths and deathclaws.

If there's one reason to visit this area, it's the fact that it can look dangerously beautiful when the weather perfectly compliments the green glow. Roaming around the Glowing Sea is not something that should be attempted from the get-go. However, players who manage to equip the Sole Survivor with relevant equipment and brave the dangers of this area will definitely enjoy this achievement.

4 The Steampunk Design of the Prydwen

The floating headquarters of the Brotherhood of Steel is as awe-inspiring as it is practical. Featuring a whole host of amenities for the Sole Survivor to use, the Prydwen is easily one of the most convenient areas in the entire game and serves as a rather entertaining hub to boot.

It helps that the Prydwen is spectacularly designed and also a ton of fun to explore. Players will definitely grow familiar with this area sooner rather than later.

3 Dunwich Borers Is Spooky, But Fascinating

The creepy atmosphere of Dunwich Borers might compel gamers to give this area the widest of berths. However, those who do will miss out on one of the most unique and memorable areas in the entire game.

Exploring this marble quarry is surprisingly fun in its own right. Taking care of The Forged and any ghouls that might reside in this area is equally satisfying. Players who love Fallout 4 with all their heart definitely consider the Dunwich Borers to be one of the highlights of this area.

2 The Inexplicable Allure Of Drumlin Diner

The Drumlin Diner might seem like a quaint and unremarkable location, especially when compared to some of the other sprawling areas in Fallout 4. Yet, there's no denying the fact that this area has a charm associated with it that is rather hard to explain.

People who end up exploring this diner will be more than happy with enjoying what is easily one of the better side quests in this title as well. This broken-down old diner makes for a unique and enjoyable experience from start to end.

1 Jamaica Plain

The Jamaica Plain is easily one of the biggest settlements in Fallout 4. It features everything from an intriguing church to a town hall that's completely decked with treasures, which have attracted quite a few raiders over time.

Out of all the areas on this list, Jamaica Plain is easily the most fun area to explore. It boasts a ton of interesting locations and unique encounters that will satiate the exploratory thirst of most gamers that happen upon this neighborhood.
