Borderlands 3 – All Fallen Heroes Vault Card Rewards
The Borderlands 3 Director’s Cut DLC is live now, and the expansion has brought several new things for players to do. One of these things is Vault Cards, which are essentially a battle pass system for Borderlands 3. While there will eventually be 3 Vault Cards to work on, there is only one available now, and the Card in question is called Fallen Heroes.
Characters like Roland, Maya, and Scooter all get some love through this system, as players can gather weapons and cosmetics themed around these deceased characters. However, with Fallen Heroes also offering some other special rewards like in-game currency, there is a good chance that players will be working through challenges and farming XP for some time to come. For those interested in this new progression system, here is everything that can be obtained from the current Vault Card.
The Fallen Heroes Vault Card offers four exclusive Legendary weapons, all of which can be obtained by using a Vault Card Key. Like the rest of the content in the card, the weapons are themed around dead characters that made an impact on the Borderlands universe. They are as follows.
- The Mechanic: A callback to Scooter, the beloved Catch-A-Ride mastermind that died in Tales from The Borderlands. The gun itself is a green COV launcher, and its unique ammo style sees tires being fired at enemies — with the large wheels rolling towards their targets once fired.
- The Bird of Prey: A callback to Mordecai’s deceased bird Bloodwing, this Jakobs sniper rifle deals tremendous damage. Each shot also has a 33% chance to drop a projectile from the sky down on the player’s attackers, with the movement being similar to Mordecai’s Bloodwing action skill in the original Borderlands game.
- The Guardian 4NG3L: A nod to the Siren Angel, otherwise known as the daughter of beloved villain Handsome Jack, this Hyperion shotgun always deals electric damage. The pellets fly like a bird when fired, and the weapon is unique due to how it deals more damage if gamers are further away from the target.
- The Super Soldier: A shield designed around Tiny Tina’s father figure Roland, this overpowered item heavily buffs player movement when full. It also regenerates ammo if filled, and when it recharges after being broken, players are invulnerable for 5 seconds due to a protective bubble.
There is a long list of special cosmetic rewards that can be obtained through Vault Card progression. Like with the weaponry, players can choose the one they want if they have a Vault Card Key, or they can be awarded one item at random by progressing a level.
- Siren’s Cowl: A Maya-themed head item for Amara.
- Crimson Blood Cell: A Roland-themed ECHO skin.
- Happy Dance: An emote.
- De Leon’s Lash: An ornament based on original Vault Hunter Typhon DeLeon.
- Deploy and Destroy: An ornament based on Roland’s turret.
- Step One: A Scooter-Themed Vault Hunter skin.
- Glyphed Up The Receiver: A Typhon-themed ECHO skin.
- Crimson Operator: A Roland-themed head item for Zane.
- Call A Ride: A Scooter-themed ECHO skin.
- Runic Relic: A Typhon-themed weapon skin.
- Tinker’s Trinket: An ornament based on Scooter’s hat.
- Scoot and Loot: A Scooter-themed weapon skin.
- Runekeeper: A Typhon-themed Vault Hunter skin.
- Roland and Tina Photo: A room decoration.
- C4tch A Ride: A Scooter-themed head item for Fl4k.
- Le Chandail De Roland: A Roland-themed Vault Hunter skin.
- Inflatable Dance: An emote.
- Ascension: An ornament based on Maya’s energy.
- Phaselocked and Loaded: A Maya-themed weapon skin.
- Maya’s Book: A room decoration.
- Bloodwing Statue: A room decoration.
- Typhon’s Legacy: A Typhon-themed head item for Moze.
- Serene Siren: A Maya-themed Vault Hunter skin.
- Echo from Beyond: A Maya-themed ECHO skin.
Finally, Borderlands 3 fans can expect some in-game currency when they are not getting one of the above items. This includes the coveted element Eridium, which serves a far more important purpose than it used to. Not only is the material used to re-roll anointments on weapons, but 500 Eridium is needed every time players want to fight Hemovorous The Invincible. As such, this can be just as valuable as any of the new additions.
The other currency that can be obtained is the brand-new Diamond Keys, with the items used to unlock the Diamond Armory aboard Sanctuary 3. With each key guaranteeing four pieces of loot, they should prove even more exciting than Eridium. However, they are also rarer, ensuring that players will need to level up their Vault Cards several times for each Diamond Key. With plenty of diversity in the Vault Card’s content, it will be fun to see what the next two additions bring to the table.
Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
