Everything Revealed About Genshin Impact's Kazuha So Far
With the recent release of the 1.5 update for Genshin Impact, it looks like the Inazuma update should be right around the corner. Featuring a brand new nation and islands to explore, recent leaks seem to point towards Inazuma characters coming soon. One of the recently leaked characters is Kazuha, a five-star Anemo sword user.
While Kazuha's character model has been leaked for some time, recent videos showcase his animations as well as his skills in action. As with previous character leaks, this implies that Kazuha should be arriving to Genshin Impact soon. Although Kazuha has not officially been revealed by miHoYo, he offers a unique playstyle centered around pulling opponents towards him with Anemo.
As Kazuha has yet to be officially revealed in Genshin Impact, there's almost no information about his backstory beyond the fact that he's a samurai from Inazuma who's a part of Beidou's Crux Fleet. However, the leaks seem to imply that Kazuha will play a role in sneaking the Traveler into Inazuma alongside Beidou and her crew.
On the other hand, plenty of information has leaked regarding Kazuha's animations, elemental skill, and elemental burst. Kazuha's normal and charged attacks are similar to other Genshin Impact sword users but like Xiao, he supposedly has a unique plunging attack. While the plunging attack wasn't seen in the leaked videos, it will work in conjunction with his elemental skill by creating a small wind tunnel that pulls in nearby objects and enemies.
Kazuha's elemental skill pulls nearby objects and Genshin Imapct enemies towards his current position before launching them into the air. Kazuha is also lifted into the air by a wind current and while he's mid-air, he's able to use plunging attack for even more damage. Kazuha's elemental burst is a sword slash which deals AOE Anemo damage and leaves behind a field which deals AOE Anemo damage in set intervals. Like other Anemo characters in Genshin Impact, the field will deal extra elemental damage if it comes in contact with Pyro, Hydro, Cryo or Electro.
Kazuha's first passive boosts his elemental skill by dealing additional damage if it swirls with another element while his second passive grants bonus damage to his Genshin Impact teammates during a swirl reaction based on his total Elemental Mastery stat. Similarly, most of Kazuha's constellations are centered around his Elemental Mastery stat by boosting his damage or his teammates' damage.
Although it's difficult to tell what role is suited for Kazuha until Genshin Impact's official reveal, it appears that he will probably function as a utility support or sub DPS. His style of aerial combat is similar to Xiao but also comes with the advantage of pulling in enemies together in an AOE similar to Jean or Venti. While it might seem like a good idea to stack elemental mastery given the team bonuses he has, his high base multipliers also point towards potential as a DPS character.
While there's plenty of time to go before the Inazuma update for Genshin Impact, Kazuha looks to be an interesting new character who offers a unique playstyle combining notable aspects of other Anemo characters. As always, players should note that there is room for major changes to his kit before release, and nothing is set in stone until mihoYo's official announcement.
Genshin Impact is available now on PC, Mobile, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
