Genshin Impact: How To Craft Portable Waypoints | Game Rant

One of the first priorities for Genshin Impact players exploring the game's large open world is to unlock as many waypoints as possible. Unlocking the available waypoints on the map will not only save Genshin Impact players considerable time to travel to quest locations, but it will also earn players a total of 50 Adventure Rank XP for each waypoint they unlock.

However, even after unlocking all of the waypoint and Statues of the Seven locations on the map, there are several farming locations that are a considerable distance away from the nearest waypoint. To alleviate the time it takes to travel to these locations, players are able to craft portable waypoints, which operate in a similar fashion to the standard waypoints and Statues of the Seven.

In order to unlock the ability to craft portable waypoints, players much first reach reputation rank 6 in Mondstadt. This is accomplished by completing weekly bounties and requests which are obtained by speaking with Hertha in the North of Mondstadt.

After players reach reputation rank 6, they will unlock the blueprint for the portable waypoint. From the precious items menu, players can then interact with the blueprint, and the portable waypoint can now be crafted at an alchemy station.

In order to craft portable waypoints, players will require 1 dead ley line leaves, 2 luminescent spines, 5 crystal chunks, and 500 mora. Once players have the required materials, the item can be crafted at an alchemy station and will be added to the player's gadget inventory.

There are several important points for players to keep in mind when utilizing portable waypoints. The first, and most important, is that players can only set one portable waypoint on the map at a time. If the player deploys a second portable waypoint while one is currently active, it will erase the previously placed waypoint.

The second important characteristic of portable waypoints that players should be aware of is that waypoints they have placed will only remain in that location for a maximum of 7 days. After seven days, the waypoint will disappear and players will have to construct an additional waypoint to place in the previous location. While this may seem inconvenient, it is unlikely that players will require a portable waypoint in a singular location for that many consecutive days.

The final important point to consider when using portable waypoints is that players will be unable to deploy them in another player's world during a co-op session. In these instances, only the host is able to deploy the one portable waypoint on the map at a given time.

Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, and PS4, with PS5 and Switch versions in development.
