Madden 21 Glitch Makes Patrick Mahomes Look Like a Terrible QB
Madden NFL 21 has been home to some of the most entertaining glitches in recent video games, and players have not stopped sharing them. Upon release, Madden 21 was riddled with bugs and glitches, leading to the game earning the worst user-rated score on Metacritic. Since then, EA has amended many of the issues while applying a number of updates to Franchise Mode. However, glitches still occur, and the latest one makes one of the best quarterbacks in the league look like one of the worst.
A Madden NFL 21 player shared his experience with a glitch in what appears to be a Franchise Mode game. In the clip, Super Bowl champion and MVP Patrick Mahomes is playing for the New York Jets, and has quite the play drawn up to confuse the other side.
Mahomes is the highest-rated quarterback in Madden 21 with a rating of 99, as he presents a match-up nightmare against anybody with the ability to throw accurate deep passes and being a threat to run on any play. However, during this particular play shared by Reddit user slipslap2, the ball is hiked and everybody moves except for Mahomes. For the first second of the play, it appears Mahomes may go for a QB draw or perhaps a run-pass option, but he does not move an inch.
The glitch gives the player an easy sack, but it could obviously get annoying if it happens on multiple plays. While many of the recent Franchise Mode glitches happen outside of gameplay, it is always entertaining to see one during a game.
Some of the other Franchise Mode glitches that have turned up even after its last update include strange AI behavior and a coach receiving a weird makeover. One Madden player shared their Franchise Mode gameplan the AI created that strangely focused on punting, while another player shared their home screen where the coach had been rendered rainbow-colored with the word "YOLO" seemingly written on their face.
The Madden glitches can be funny to share, but some have been a determinant to gameplay. Madden fans are hoping for improvements in Madden NFL 22, including launching without a ton of bugs and glitches and changes to both Franchise Mode and Face of the Franchise Mode. Although Madden 22 has not yet been officially announced, it is expected to release in the second half of this year.
Madden NFL 21 is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
