Most Expensive GameCube Games | Game Rant

It has been about ten years ever since Nintendo released its GameCube. Although the GameCube can be spotted today for a fairly low price around $200, some of its games have only gotten more expensive as years go by. Basically, some GameCube titles started to become collectibles, meaning the high demand but low supply of them have raised the price exponentially.

GameCube has managed to become a nostalgic console and some have argued it is one of Nintendo's bests, but regardless, it has been widely underappreciated in comparison to other consoles. This is not to say that the GameCube did not have its problems. Even when the console was fresh out, it received criticism about the choice to use the mini DVD format and not playing DVDs, as well as the type of game that Nintendo was releasing at that time. However, GameCube did have some amazing titles as well.

Some of the most expensive titles have become pricey because they come in a bundle which can include many different installments of an already classic title. Most of the time, these games are also hard to find which is why they have become valuable for collectors. A good example of this is the popular title Super Monkey Ball 2-Pack which can cost over $600. In this case, it is the bundle that makes it reach that price since the individual games are more easily found.

A more expensive rare game is the Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc Version 14 which, as the name suggests, is a compilation of demos. What makes this demo disc surpass the $1000 in price in the case of a new copy is the fact that it includes demos of many other classic games. Version 14 includes demos of games like Custom Robo, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, as well as trailers for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Need for Speed: Underground, among others.

Other bundles that are highly appreciated and therefore a little more expensive than usual titles include the classic Sonic Adventure 2 Pack, and the Metroid Prime & Zelda Wind Waker Combo. The latter has become particularly famous for reaching a price of $1500 due to how limited the game is. Even though each of the titles can be found at a much lower price, the bundle is so rare its price has increased considerably over the years.

Another thing that might make GameCube games more expensive is the fact that they have become classic titles for Nintendo. Games fitting into this category include Chibi-Robo which was a game that has only become recently appreciated as it was unsuccessful when it first launched. This title can be purchased for about $200 which is definitely not the most expensive, but it is definitely more pricey than most games.

Pokemon XD: A Gale of Darkness is still a popular title that has become more expensive over the years, as it tends to happen with some Pokemon titles. This installment in particular was a GameCube exclusive has recently reached a worth of approximately $200. Another Pokemon title that became one of GameCube's collector's items is the Pokemon Colosseum which can be worth up to $300.

Another game that became a GameCube classic is Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance which is rumored to get a remake. This title was pretty common back in the day and, unlike Chibi-Robo, it did sell a good amount of copies. Still, the game is so emblematic of the GameCube era that it can cost up to $500 today. Another game valued at a similar price is Gadget Racers, which has become a valuable title for being one of GameCube's exclusives.
