New Pokemon Snap: How to Break the Boulder in Lental Seafloor
As players go through New Pokemon Snap, their scans will lead them to a variety of branching paths on their current courses. While some of these are easy to find, others require a little more effort in order to unlock.
Early on in the Lental Seafloor course, New Pokemon Snap players will find a boulder blocking a cave toward their immediate left if they are looking forward. Throwing Fluffruits, Illumina Orbs, or playing music will make these rocks budge, leaving some players confused. It is however possible to remove them and go through the cave.
The first thing players will need is to be on at least level two for the Lental Seafloor course. This will cause a very important Pokemon to spawn and help with the boulders. Next, players will need to unlock the pink Illumina Orb Item. This can be unlocked by taking a picture of Frillish later on in the course if the boulder isn't removed. Once players have both of these requirements they can remove the boulders.
When players begin the course, they will need to look out for the Pokemon, Clawitzer. It is the blue lobster-like Pokemon that can be seen in the above image. Once players have it in their sights, they will need to keep an eye on it until they get to the boulders.
Once players start to approach the boulders, they need to use an Illumina Orb on Clawitzer before it attacks the boulders. If it isn't done fast enough, Clawitzer will be unable to do enough damage to get rid of all the boulders and swim off. However if players time it correctly, the Pokemon will be able to completely destroy the boulders blocking the cave. This attack also makes for a good photo opportunity that players can take advantage of.
After the path is cleared, players can choose to go down into the cave by scanning it and selecting this new path. It contains many Pokemon that were unable to be found on the main path such as the Chinchou line, male Frillish, and Golisopod. The path also helps players meet the requirements needed in order to meet one of the Illumina Pokemon of the Lental Region.
Clawitzer isn't the only Pokemon with new behaviors after having an Illumina Orb used on them. Players are recommended to try all of their items on the many Pokemon around them to find all sorts of new discoveries.
