NieR Replicant: The Scattered Cargo Side Quest Walkthrough
After progressing to the midgame time skip, NieR Replicant players will find that the Seafront is populated by several new NPCs that offer a variety of side quests to complete. While the market district of the Seafront remains mostly unchanged, NieR Replicant players will find the majority of the new quests in the area surrounding the post office.
At the fountain next to the Seafront post office, players can speak with an old lady who informs the player that some cargo that she was expecting to be delivered has washed ashore across various regions. What makes the old lady's request strange is that she claims that the cargo is "unusual" and asks the players when they find the various boxes, not to open them.
There are a total of three boxes that players must recover in three separate locations. When players find each piece of cargo, they will be given two choices; "Pick it up without looking inside" and "Look inside before picking it up."
If players opt to look in each of the boxes they will find them containing explosives and after finding all three, the cargo can be turned over to the authorities to receive a reward of 50,000 gold. However, if players opt to deliver the cargo without inspecting the contents they will receive 20,000 gold from the old lady in addition to a permanent discount at the Seafront Item shop.
Players can find the first piece of cargo in the big beach area of the Seafront. While this beach was originally empty, after the events of the time skip a large vessel has washed ashore. Players can find the cargo to the right of the large vessel.
The second piece of cargo can be found on the shore of the lake next to the main village. This also happens to be the location where players are able to catch Black Bass to complete part 5 of the Fisherman's Gambit questline.
The third and final piece of cargo can be found in the Northern Plains. The box is located underneath the bridge structure near the area where the goats spawn.
After obtaining the final piece of missing cargo, players must deliver it to either the old lady or the authorities- depending on whether they decided to open the cargo in the process of completing the side quest. While the 50,000 gold reward offered by the authorities may be enticing, the discount at the Item Shop is far more useful in the long run.
NieR Replicant is now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
