Resident Evil Village's Next Demo Goes Live Tomorrow, Here's How to Play
As announced earlier this month, Resident Evil Village will be offering players a series of timed demos in the lead-up to the game's release on May 7, with the first of these small previews exclusively hitting PlayStation last week. Tomorrow, PlayStation 4 and 5 players in North America will be able to access another exclusive glimpse at the game, this time shifting from the sequel's titular village setting to Lady Dimitrescu's castle.
Much like last time, those wanting to get in on the event will only be able to do so for a limited time, with Capcom opening the demo up on April 24 at 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET and closing it down on April 25 at 1:00 AM PT / 4:00 AM ET. They'll only have 30-minutes to explore the castle and complete the demo, with a timer ensuring they can't spend longer in the experience than allowed. Those accessing the demo must also be connected to the internet to play.
For those accessing the game in the UK and Europe, they'll have to wait a day longer, with the demo launching on April 25 at 6:00 PM BST / 7:00 PM CEST and closing down on April 26 at 2:00 AM BST / 3:00 AM CEST. This will be the last PlayStation exclusive demo launching for Resident Evil 8: Village, with a third and final preview hitting PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Google Stadia next week. That demo will offer players 60-minutes to traverse both the village and castle locations.
For those wanting to ensure they don't waste any time prepping for the demo, they can preload it onto their system right now. All they have to do is launch the PlayStation Store, search for Resident Evil 8: Village, and download the gameplay demo application. Accessing the app will show them exactly how long they have to wait before the preview is live in their region, counting down via a timer. Once the time has run down, the app will take them to the demo and they can officially get started.
Early glimpses at the castle seem to hint the player could experience some nasty surprises while making their way through the demo, whether that's encountering the three vampiric sisters who can traverse the environment as swarms of flies or coming face to face with the internet phenomenon that is Lady Dimitrescu. It's sure to be filled with plenty of creepy surprises and imposing enemies, especially as the castle is one of the main areas Capcom has displayed throughout its Resident Evil 8 marketing.
Resident Evil 8: Village will be available on May 7 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Google Stadia.
