Xbox Series X Electric Volt Controller is Available Now
Microsoft debuted the new Xbox controllers in November along with the Xbox Series X/S consoles. The new Xbox controllers feature improvements over the previous models like a new dedicated share button, textured triggers, and the ability to connect to various devices including the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows PCs. Both the Daystrike Camo and the Electric Volt controllers were revealed last month, and now the Xbox Electric Volt controller is officially available.
The Electric Volt Xbox controller is made with "yellow resin," the first for Xbox controllers. The new generation Xbox controllers are all made with recycled resin from various plastics, giving them unique and vivid colors. The Electric Volt controller is currently available on the Microsoft Store website for $64.99.
The Electric Volt controller is listed at the same price as the recently released Pulse Red Xbox controller. The Electric Volt controller also matches the Pulse Red controller in terms of color designs, as both have solid color faceplates, but feature a white backplate, which gives the controller a distinctive contrast.
The Daystrike Camo Xbox controller was announced the same day as the Electric Volt controller, but will release on May 4th at a more expensive price. The Daystrike Camo variation will be released as a special edition for $69.99. The Daystrike Camo features a red, black, and grey colored traditional camo design, much like the Artic Camo and the Night Ops Camo Xbox One controllers.
Xbox players now have even more of a reason to pick up a new controller. Not only is the release of the Electric Volt controller exciting, but the entire collection of the new generation of Xbox controllers now can connect to iOS devices. The new Xbox controllers could already connect to Microsoft systems, but now with the latest iOS update, the Xbox controllers can connect to iPhones to play mobile games with the feel of a next-gen console. Owners of iPhones still do not have access to Cloud Gaming yet, but Xbox has stated it will release the streaming service on iOS soon.
Cloud Gaming could be hitting iPhones sooner than expected. Xbox has announced that a limited invite-only Cloud Gaming beta test is being launched for iOS and web browsers. If the streaming service hits iOS soon, millions of users will be able to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, giving them access to over 100 game titles playable on their mobile devices. When iOS users get Game Pass, the new generation of Xbox controllers, including the Electric Volt released today, will be able to connect to their mobile device.
