Cosplayers Create The Batfleck/Joker Crossover Fans Have Been Wanting

Cosplayers recreated the look of the popular Ben Affleck version of Batman who was from the Snyderverse films and Joaquin Phoenix's Joker who had his own universe as well as film. These are arguably two of the most popular versions of these two characters in recent memory. Jack McKnight (@the_dark_mckinght on Instagram) recreated the look of Batman that Zack Snyder fans have come to know and love. Appropriately enough, the cosplayer dressed as Joker is not credited, and his identity remains unknown.

Ben Affleck's Batman was a violent version of the caped crusader that wasn't afraid to take the lives of the people he fought in combat (at least that's how it seemed on film). He was also a lot bigger than the other previous Batman fans have seen on film, which added to the combat scenes where he flipped around a warehouse taking down thugs like he does in the Arkham games. Joaquin's Joker was a lot more grounded in the vein of the Dark Knight trilogy but his universe was its own separate telling away from the other DC movies.

Right now there are no plans for a crossover. With James Gunn's The Suicide Squad coming soon, it's becoming harder to tell which movies will be considered canon. There's plenty of fan theories that connect the two movies but the one thing that debunks it is with Jared Leto's Joker being a character in that universe.

Despite all of this, it shouldn't be completely counted out of the realm of possibility. The Snyder cut was just a meme a few months ago, now it's a fully released film with millions of streams. Joaquin's Joker was cosplayed by a lot of fans. Even having people going to the infamous "stairs" in the Bronx. It's no surprise that more than a year after the movie's release that there are still fans demonstrating their appreciation for the film.

While a crossover will be welcome, many like to keep the universes that DC operates on a separate existence, allowing them their own space to grow. However, with the upcoming Flash movie making some big moves in bringing Michael Keaton back to reprise his Bruce Wayne role, there's no telling how DC movies are ultimately going to tie together. It's entirely possible that DC will aim for its movies to exist in a multiverse right from the get-go, something that Marvel may be working on for the next phases of its own epic superhero tales.
