Destiny 2: All Week 1 Season of the Splicer Seasonal Challenges

Seasonal Challenges have returned to Destiny 2 in the new Season of the Splicer, and players have 10 objectives to complete this week. None of the challenges are particularly difficult, but some are a bit of a grind and quite specific.

Destiny 2 players need to get kills using certain weapon types which the new Override weapons happen to be perfect for. One of the main challenges also tasks players with completing this week’s story quest which formally introduces Guardians to Fallen Kell of Light Mithrax.

Here are the 10 Seasonal Challenges for week one of Season of the Splicer in Destiny 2:

To complete this challenge, finish the Path of the Splicer I quest and defeat powerful Cabal with bonus progress being awarded for kills in the new Override seasonal activity. Part I of the Path of the Splicer quest is very simple and can be started by speaking to the Splicer Servitor in the new area of the H.E.L.M.

As for the powerful Cabal kills, playlist Strikes and Lost Sectors that feature Cabal will be a good place to start. Override is also a good activity for this objective but there is only a chance that Cabal will be the featured enemy as Vex can appear instead. Completing this challenge will award Destiny 2 players with Decrypted Data which can upgrade the Splicer Gauntlet.

For this challenge, players need to complete five Override missions and deposit Data Spikes as a team. Data Spikes are dropped by Scytale Champions found within Override missions. The spikes can be picked up by Guardians and deposited at the Vex confluxes although they are not necessary to progress, so players should make a conscious effort to grab and deposit the spikes to progress this objective. Players can also increase progress for each piece of Season of the Splice Lightkin armor that they are wearing.

Destiny 2 players simply need to collect Ether to complete this challenge. Ether is earned through playing the core activities – those are Strikes, Crucible matches, and Gambit matches – as well as through Public Events, and killing enemies. Ether is an important resource as it is used to craft Key Codes which unlock Conflux Chests in Override missions to get more loot. To earn and hold even more Ether, players should unlock the Ether Filter and Memory Expansion Splicer Gauntlet upgrades.

This challenge tasks players with defeating enemies using Sidearms with precision kills awarding bonus progress. There are several new Sidearms in Destiny 2 thanks to Season of the Splicer including the Season Pass Exotic weapon Cryosthesia 77K. This objective requires a lot of Sidearm kills so players looking to complete it as quickly as possible should run two Sidearms in Strikes and Override to power through.

This challenge makes a return from last season and has not changed at all. Players need to journey to Europa to complete 10 bounties from Variks and earn progress for another objective by completing Patrols, Public Events, Lost Sectors, and bounties. Grabbing lots of bounties from Variks and going through the three main areas of Europa to complete the Lost Sectors and any Public Events and Patrols that happen to be in the area is the best way to complete this challenge.

For this challenge, Destiny 2 players need to complete three weekly playlist challenges. There are three very simple challenges that all players can do easily. For Strikes, players need to complete three Strikes while using a Subclass that matches the elemental singe modifier for the given week, so if Arc Singe is currently active, players should be using any of the Arc Subclasses.

For Crucible and Gambit, players just need to complete three matches of each game mode to complete the challenge. These weekly playlist challenges also award Pinnacle gear, so players should definitely complete them before the end of the week to help with reaching the new 1320 power cap.

This challenge is very simple and just requires players to get kills with Sidearms, SMGs, Shotguns, and Swords on Europa. Multikills with these weapon types also award bonus progress. For this week, Override is only on Europa as no other destinations are available currently, so this is one of the best activities to do to complete this challenge quickly and get some of the new Legendary Splicer weapons along the way.

This week’s Gambit challenge tasks players with earning 250 points by banking Motes and defeating Blockers and Invaders in Gambit matches. This challenge can be completed in a few matches as these are basic rules of Gambit, so all players should be doing these things anyway.

Destiny 2 players need to defeat 50 Guardians in the Team Scorched Crucible mode for this challenge. Defeating Guardians with charged Scorch Cannon rockets awards bonus progress but these are much harder to do and not particularly worthwhile. Three to five matches should be enough for most players to get this challenge done. Players should note that Team Scorched is part of the rotator playlist node under the Crucible which means it is not always available, so completing this challenge as soon as possible is advised.

For this challenge, Destiny 2 players need to defeat five Vex bosses in Strikes. The Glassway Strike has two Vex Hydras for the final boss encounter which makes it the best Strike for completing this objective. It also happens to be this week’s Nightfall Strike which means it can be easily repeated until the objective is complete.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light and the new Season of the Splicer are available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
