Final Fantasy 10-2: How To Unlock All Of The Dresspheres

Dresspheres are not just a fun collectible item of cool clothes to put on Yuna, Rikku, and Paine in Final Fantasy X-2. Each dressphere also provides a unique set of job abilities that can make the challenging, grindy combat of the game a hundred times more bearable.

With boss fights against Yuna's former aeons waiting for players at the end of the game, having all the dresspheres and as much to choose from as possible is key to winning. However, many dresspheres are easy to miss and quite difficult to earn. Here's where each of the non-default (Thief, Gunner, Warrior) dresspheres can be found.

The easiest dressphere to get by far, aside from the three default ones already available, Songstress can be acquired right off the bat in the very first fight Yuna, Rikku, and Paine will have against Leblanc after the opening concert.

The dressphere is, however, quite weak and plays mainly a storytelling purpose. It's more of a supporting dressphere, that can boost ally attributes and increase the duration of certain status effects. In essence, it's the bard of Final Fantasy.

During Chapter 1, the trio will eventually head to Besaid Island to visit some old friends. While there, a dangerous quest leads them to Besaid Cave, at the end of which a dressphere can be discovered. However, in order to get it, the Flame Dragon needs to be defeated, and is among the tougher beginning boss fights.

The dressphere in question the White Mage one, a mage class specialized in the art of healing exclusively. White Mages are supports, which means they deal no damage and simply focus on support-type spells such as Cure, Regen, and Life.

An offensive counterpart to the White Mage dressphere, Black Mages will dish out potent damage in the form of elemental spells like Fire, Water, Thunder, and Blizzard. As this dressphere is leveled up on the Garment Grid, more powerful versions of the original spells can be used for devastating damage.

This dressphere is part of the earliest missions on Mt. Gagazet, where players must race to the top of the ruins before Leblanc and his goons. Even if the party can't make it before Leblanc, the dressphere will still be the final reward for finishing the quest.

Gun Mages are a unique type. They're not quite as straightforwardly useful as many other dresspheres, but they'll come in handy due to their ability to deal extra damage to specific types of fiends and being able to scan information about enemies and fiend types.

To get it, there are two ways. Either during Chapter 1, when Yuna, Rikku, and Paine can choose to help bring Tobli's caravan to Moonflow by starting an optional side quest. Or, it can be gained during Chapter 2 by helping Tobli sell some tickets in Moonflow during an optional quest.

For a tanky dressphere, look no further. This truly is one of the strongest dresspheres out there, and fairly easy to get as well. It can be discovered in the Bevelle Underground, as early as Chapter 2. To get to the chest it's in, the player needs to unlock a few switches at the triple elevator before the fight against Baralai.

Step on the right elevator first, and then jump back down by running towards the camera's viewpoint. You'll be right back at where you started. Take the middle elevator next, and step on the stone platform next to you, to activate a platform leading to the chest. Then take the left elevator, run across the hallway to the right and take the right elevator back up. Now take the middle elevator and activate the final platform before heading downstairs and activating the platforms in the hallway to bring the final elevator at the end of the hallway close. This final elevator will take the player to the platforms leading to the chest.

The earlier players head for this dressphere, the better, since it can be challenging to complete the mission at higher levels. Head over to Calm Lands during Chapter 2, to begin a side mission that involves fighting off several fiends in the area.

Once the job is done, the Alchemist dressphere is awarded. It's a bit of a niche dressphere, which focuses on the use of consumables and mixing them for various combinations. Consumable usage time is also cut significantly. Stash ability lets the player use a hidden item without actually using any items in the inventory.

Another fairly tanky and high damage dressphere quite similar to Dark Knight, one of the best parts of the kit is Zantetsu, an ability that can instakill an enemy. Within Bushido, a wide range of powerful abilities like Dismissal, Fireworks, and Momentum. The dressphere can really rack up some serious damage when its abilities are used to their maximum potential.

The dressphere can be accessed as early as Chapter 3, found within Kilika Temple. Just before the encounter with, Ifrit, the dressphere can be discovered. Alternatively, it can also be discovered in Chapter 5, inside the Chamber of Fayth.

Strong on the offensive, weak on the defensive, the Berserker is all about high damage and high health pool. The Berserk ability will make the player lose control of their character but deal high damage, while the Instinct ability tree has a wide range of high damage abilities like Cripple and Mad Rush, and even instakills like Eject.

During Chapter 3, go to Lake Macalania and wipe all the fiends in the area nearby the travel agency. As a reward, Yuna, Rikku, and Paine will receive this dressphere.

Drawing inspiration from the Beastmaster, depending on the character, Yuna, Rikku and Paine will each command their own unique pet while wearing this dressphere. Kogoro, Ghiki, and Flurry each have their own abilities, with Kogoro focused on elemental magic, Ghiki focus on status effects like Darkness and Silence, and Flurry proficient in Poison and Petrification.

To get this dressphere, players must make the right choice in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 when speaking with Kimahri. In both dialogues, Kimahri will express his concern for the younglings for the Ronso. Pick the second option, which has Yuna tell Kimahri he needs to figure these things out on his own. Return in Chapter 3, and Kimahri will grant Yuna the Trainer dressphere.

An extremely niche dressphere, the job of a Lady Luck is to maximize the amount of rewards from battle, while dealing damage with dice and slots. While Two Dice and Four Dice deal simple damage to targets, Attack Reels and Magic Reels is based on randomization, which determines how much physical or magical damage is dealt. Although, by pausing the game, it's reportedly possible to abuse the slot machine.

To get this dressphere, the player needs to beat Shinra in a game of Sphere Break as early as Chapter 3. The earlier this quest is done, the easier he will be to beat. Sphere Break is a monster of its own to master, but with some practice, it's a simple mathematical game at its core.

One of the best dresspheres in the game but also the most challenging one to earn, it can only be received during Chapter 5. Make sure to complete every quest location in Spira to unlock Episode Complete everywhere. Then, enter the Celsius to receive it.

Like with Trainer, each Mascot has different abilities and can access two of any of the other dresspheres. The Kupo! abilities are mostly focused on healing and supporting the party. Wildcat is specialized in elemental magic. Finally, Cutlery deals damage while also applying devastating status effects like Darkness, Silence, and Sleep.

Yuna's special dressphere, which is in the form of a giant flower. When in this dressphere, only Yuna in her dressphere is in combat. The dressphere can deal heavy damage along with elemental damage, and even revive the entire party through All-Life. The Left and Right Pistils are separate entities capable of simple attacks.

To get it, grab it in Chapter 2 on the Djose Highroad, during the quest that sends the trio chasing after the Leblanc Syndicate. The dressphere is hidden behind a rock.

Paine's special dressphere is basically a massive bird-like suit on tall legs. Sword Dance is one of the most powerful tools for damage it has, along with the Throttle abilities that deal various elemental attacks. The Dextral and Sinistral Wings are separate entities that can be controlled as well.

To get this dressphere, head to Macalania Woods during either Chapter 1 or 2. The sooner, the better, given how powerful this dressphere is. Simply speak with an NPC named Tromell, and after interacting with them for four times, they will grant you the dressphere.

Finally, there's Rikku's special dressphere, which is a beast-like machina creature resembling Al Bhed weapons. Its strongest ability Vajra deals insane amounts of damage, and the Machinations category holds a number of missile attacks with negative status effects such as Confusion, Petrification and Poison.

The dressphere is earned during Chapter 2 during a quest in the Bikanel Desert, which pits the party against Leblanc's goons. More specifically, the dressphere is located at the Oasis.

Since 2014, thanks to the HD Remaster of FFX-2, the Last Mission sequel to the original game is available to all international fans as well and is no longer a Japan-only exclusive. This means the Freelancer dressphere is also accessible.

The utility of this dressphere is questionable, to say the least. Each character is stripped of any real abilities, and they can only attack with melee. It's more fan service if anything. To get it, head to Iutycyr Tower, the new dungeon included for Last Mission.

The Festivalist dressphere is another more niche dressphere, each with their own special set of abilities. As usual, Yuna is focused on dishing out elemental spells, while Rikku can use goldfish summons to aid her in combat. Paine is focused more on damage dealing and inflicting negative status effects such as Darkness, Silence and Confusion.

This dressphere is actually earned at the very start of the game, provided players have the HD Remaster or International version. It can be acquired right off the bat onboard the Celsius ship.

Another special dressphere only included in the HD Remaster and International version of the game, it focuses on psychic abilities known as Psionics. Its most powerful ability Excellence actually nullifies any physical and magical attacks on the caster. Psionics has simple damage abilities, as ell as negative status effect abilities, and even a spell that stops time.

To get this dressphere, speak with Shinra while onboard the Celsius and access the Creature Creator. Enter the Fiend Arena, and get this dressphere after winning the Standard Cup.
