How To Unlock The Free Classes In Magic: Legends | Game Rant
Magic: The Gathering is - if not one of - the most popular trading card games in the world. Its vast collection of cards and seemingly endless deck possibilities draw many into its expansive universe. The franchise's immense fame has sparked the creation of various games on numerous systems. The latest addition to MTG's video game collection is the online action RPG Magic: Legends.
Magic: Legends grants players the opportunity to become a Planeswalker and save the multiverse from the forces of evil. The game allows players to choose their own path and immerse themselves in the world of MTG. Players can create their own unique character and most importantly pick a class. New players can choose from any of the five free classes but obtaining them all requires much more effort.
Deciding which class players want to start with is a very important step in unlocking additional classes. There are five classes - Sanctifier, Necromancer, Mind Mage, Geomancer, and Beastcaller - each with its own respective mana color and playstyle. Despite being able to achieve every class the first will remain with them for a considerable amount of time.
Players beginning class should reflect the player's preferred method of playing the game. It will act as the player's main class and it will help them progress through the game with relative ease. Without proper consideration for their starting class, players may endure difficulties until they are able to unlock a new class.
After deciding on which class to start with players will learn the basics of the game through the tutorial. The tutorial teaches players how to use their Planeswalkers and other essential elements of Magic: Legends. While it is meant to ease players into the game it becomes increasingly difficult for them to test their skills.
The tutorial starts Planeswalkers in Tazeem a region in the plane of Zendikar during a time of crisis. The player must complete a variety of missions that will take around an hour to complete. Once the tutorial is finished the player must progress further in order to obtain the means of unlocking new classes.
Soon after completing the tutorial, Planeswalkers will be granted their own personal realm. The Meditation Realm is the player's base of operations where they can produce a variety of upgrade materials. However, players must first work to obtain the workstations required to make upgrade items.
There are five different workstations that each have their own unique function. Every workstation requires specific materials to perform its specialized tasks. The Mystical Study workstation is responsible for learning new spells, obtaining resources, and most importantly unlocking new classes.
Once players build the Mystical Study, they will have access to many of its beneficial functions. However, at level one the Mystical Study cannot unlock new classes for Planeswalkers. To gain this ability players must upgrade the Mystical Study to level two.
In order to upgrade the Mystical Study players will need to obtain various materials. Leveling up requires 500 gold and 300 planar mana from each color. After a bit of grinding, players will be able to upgrade the Mystical Study and gain the ability to unlock new classes.
Unlocking new characters does not come without a price meaning that players will have to provide material to do so. Players will need 2000 Aether, 50,000 gold, and 2000 planar mana of each color. This is a lot of components and Planeswalkers will need to do extensive grinding to gather needed materials.
Each item needed can be obtained through different means. Aether can be obtained from unrefined aether which is obtained from skirmishes and missions. Gold can be acquired from enemies, skirmishes, or missions. Planar mana can be collected from the Mana Vault, various planes, or Radiant Wisps. Once players obtain the necessary materials, they can unlock a second new class.
Now players are faced with the vital choice of what class they want to unlock next. While the components for a second new class were costly the materials needed for the remaining classes are far more. So, players must decide which class would be best for their pursuit to unlock every class. Once they choose their second class the player must once again grind.
To unlock other classes players will need to obtain 100, 000 aether, 150, 000 gold, 3000 planar mana of each color, and finally 150 chromatic mana. This will require an extensive amount of time, effort, and progression to collect the components for the remaining three classes. Regardless of this fact, as the player attains new classes and advances the process will become much less tedious. With access to every class, Planeswalkers become significantly more versatile and powerful.
