Complete Call of Duty: Warzone CARV.2 Breakdown | Game Rant
After being blasted into the past, Call of Duty: Warzone continues to add new weapons into players' arsenals. With a different era in mind, the Call of Duty developers decided to expand the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War armory with a lethal bullpup tactical rifle. Call of Duty: Warzone fans now have access to the CARV.2 as part of the Season 3 update.
Tactical rifles are generally burst-fire weapons that are designed for accurate target elimination. Call of Duty: Warzone has previously seen the AUG and DMR 14 dominate on the battlefield, but the CARV.2 had a different reception. Originally questioned, the gun quickly grew into a fan-favorite option among the community after players learned to maximize its potential.
Call of Duty: Warzone's CARV.2 rifle is a burst-fire weapon with improved recoil control and moderate firepower. The weapon has a larger ammo pool than most tactical rifle options and is designed for mid-to-long-range encounters. Call of Duty: Warzone fans tend to maximize recoil reduction while pushing for more damage output, creating a deadly combination of accuracy and lethality.
Due to its range, many Call of Duty: Warzone loadouts include an Optic option on this rifle. The CARV.2 rifle can take advantage of a Royal & Kross 4x scope, or the Axial Arms 3x for mid-distance accuracy. Otherwise, the first attachment should be an Agency Suppressor or a Muzzle Brake .45 APC, as both will help with damage. While the Agency Suppressor is preferred due to its silenced shooting, the Muzzle Brake does help with recoil control.
Next is the barrel, which should be a 20.8" Strike Team barrel or a 23.6" Match Grade barrel. The goal is to improve bullet velocity for less drop with these barrels. An alternative option is the 18.9 Titanium barrel, which can aid in increasing fire rate at the cost of damage range. Fans should avoid adding a laser or light to the body and instead opt for an underbarrel attachment with the Field Agent Foregrip or Bruiser Grip.
For Magazine options, players tend to equip a larger magazine for fewer reloads throughout the battle, the Salvo 75 RND Fast Mag or the 54 RND Drum being popular options. While the Fast Mag holds more ammo, it does reduce ADS time, so fans who prioritize ADS speeds should choose the 54 RND option for faster targeting. The Handle option can easily be skipped on this Call of Duty: Warzone weapon, as a Stock will be more beneficial in the long run. Players can use the SAS Combat Stock for a steady aim and more mobility.
As a Tactical Rifle, the Call of Duty: Warzone weapon is not as mobile as an SMG, so players should instead focus on survivability and avoiding detection. A good first perk to is E.O.D. or Cold-Blooded to survive lethal equipment or avoid thermal detection. As a second perk, most players choose Ghost, as it can avoid any detection from UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors. As an alternative option, fans can also benefit from High Alert or Overkill for more information or an extra gun, depending on personal preference.
Finally, the third perk is more tricky to decide on, as many players use either Battle Hardened, Spotter, or Tracker. Battle Hardened will help reduce flash and stun effects and makes players immune to snapshot grenades. However, Tracker and Spotter both gather information, allowing a Call of Duty: Warzone player alternative tactics when dealing with enemies. Due to the burst-fire nature of the gun, this extra information can be vital for landing shots in the proper spots.
Lethal and Tactical options include Stun and Flash grenades alongside Thermite. The goal is to flush targets out at long distances, or distract targets long enough for a tactical retreat. Call of Duty: Warzone fans can also use C4 or Proximity Mines for targeted eliminations or camping defenses.

Building a loadout for the CARV.2 can be difficult as the weapon naturally leans in multiple directions. Players can build this weapon to be a dramatically different gun for different situations. For this loadout, players maximizing their recoil reduction and mid-range potential. Call of Duty: Warzone tactical rifle loadouts tend to start with a suppressor, and the CARV.2 benefits most from the Agency Suppressor. This muzzle option silences the weapon's shots while providing a boost to damage.
To further increase damage and bullet velocity, players should equip the 23.6" Match Grade barrel. This is easily paired with the Field Agent Foregrip for horizontal and vertical recoil reduction, and the 45 RND Drum offers extra ammo needed for extended confrontations. Call of Duty: Warzone players should find this build stable and effective at using the burst-fire weapon to their advantage and gunning down enemies with limited ammo.
The CARV.2 should be paired with a short-range option as a secondary. While default builds can equip a 1911 pistol or similar options, Call of Duty: Warzone fans who use overkill can explore deeper. SMGs and Shotguns are great compliments to the CARV.2's potential, but fans should avoid using any long-range weapons unless they remove the Royal & Kross 4x scope. Another good option for Solo or Duo players is to use a launcher in the secondary slot in order to gun down vehicles or hard-to-flush players.
Fans should use Cold-Blooded, Ghost, and Tracker as their go-to perks, and complement it with a Flash Grenade tactical and C4 Lethal. The explosive option will help eliminate vehicles, while the Flash Grenade can give fans time to fire more than one burst in emergency close-range situations. Call of Duty: Warzone fans can rely on this weapon to eliminate problematic targets, but they will constantly face difficulties in close-range confrontations.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
