Minecraft: How to Make Suspicious Stew | Game Rant

Minecraft is the sandbox game that allows players to do just about anything they want. Between different potions, blocks, and recipes, players can explore every part of their Minecraft seeds to their hearts content. One of the potions that can make a player's time a little easier and more fun are the many varieties of the Suspicious Stew.

Suspicious stew is a food item that is made by combining one red mushroom, one brown mushroom, and one bowl with a variety of different flowers. Each different flower gives players a different status effect when they eat a stew made with one of them. The status effects range from good status effects like Minecraft fire resistance to bad ones like poison depending on the type of flower used.

In order to complete a stew of any variety, players will need four ingredients. While the flowers can be picked in out in the world in places like Minecraft's plains biome, the other three ingredients require a little more work to find or make. Bowls can be made by combining three planks of any type, but mushrooms can be a little bit more difficult to farm.

  • Both red and brown mushrooms spawn in low-light situations, like right inside of caves.
  • Mushrooms can be easily farmed in just about any biome in the Nether.
  • In Swamp biomes
  • Giant Tree Tiagas
  • Witch huts

Depending on the types of flowers that Minecraft players add, the stew will change which status effect is given to the player when the stew is consumed. The different combinations include:

  • Dandelion - Saturation
  • Poppy - Night Vision
  • Blue Orchid - Saturation
  • Allium - Fire Resistance
  • Azure Bluet - Blindness
  • Red Tulip - Weakness
  • Orange Tulip - Weakness
  • White Tulip - Weakness
  • Pink Tulip - Weakness
  • Oxeye Daisy - Regeneration
  • Cornflower - Jump Boost
  • Lily of the Valley - Poison
  • Wither Rose - Wither

The length of these status effects changes based on the type of stew and whether the players are using Bedrock or Java edition. Regardless of which one the player makes and consumes, the stew will also restore 6 hunger. These Suspicious stews can be eaten even if the player is not hungry and will give the status effect. Once players have consumed the stew, the bowl will be returned and can be used for more stews, like more Suspicious stews, turnip stews, or even mushroom stews.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
