Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart - How to Get Zurpstones With Trudi
Since the very beginning, the Ratchet and Clank series has inundated players with collectibles to chase and that continues in the PS5 exclusive, Rift Apart. One of the main collectibles in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart are the Spybots, little robots that are scattered around each planet and are key to unlocking the series’ classic Ryno 8.
However, not all Spybots in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart are just waiting for players to find them. Some have specific tasks tied to them, like the one on Planet Sargasso.
On Sargasso, players will eventually meet Mort and Trudi the dragon. Trudi has an appetite for Zurpstones, pink glowing gems that come from plants scattered around the Planet. Collecting a few Zurpstones for Trudi will unlock Lombax armor from Mort but eventually, he tasks Rivet with collecting all of the remaining Zurpstones, and in return, he will give her a Spybot. He also offers to mark all Zurpstones on the map, so players can more easily find and collect them.
Around the same time that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart players unlock the Zurpstone quest for the Spybot, they will also gain access to Trudi as a mount. Flying on Trudi as a Dragon mount is a quick way to get around Sargasso, which is covered with a lot of thick bog water. It’s much quicker than using the snails and offers a great view of the planet, stunningly rendered on the PlayStation 5.
Once players start flying they will notice that there are some Zurpstone plants high up but they have no way to collect them. Despite the fact that Trudi offers flight, Rivet can’t interact with the Zurpstones while on the dragon mount…at least for now.
Since Mort marks them on the map, players may want to collect all of the Zurpstones immediately, but unfortunately, they need to wait. Further on in the story, Trudi will unlock the ability to shoot fireballs from her mouth and it’s only then that Rivet can destroy and collect all of the Zurpstones in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. They can then take those Zurpstones to Mort and unlock a Spybot for the Ryno 8 blueprint.
It might be frustrating that players can practically brush up against the Zurpstone plants on Sargasso and still not break/collect them, but patience is the answer and putting more time with Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Eventually, Trudi will be able to break them with her fire balls and the Spybot will be yours.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is available now for PS5.
