'The Book Of Boba Fett' Star Shows Off Cool 'Star Wars' Wrap Gifts
The Book of Boba Fett has wrapped production according to star Ming-Na Wen (who plays Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian). The series is the second original Star Wars project for Disney Plus and picks up right where we last saw Boba and Fennec: Right on Tatooine in Jabba's palace.
Boba Fett was thought to have been killed in the fight on Tatooine in Star Wars Episode 6. There were several Star Wars comic book issues that detailed Fett's survival but at that point in time, there was no "official confirmation" of this being canon. However, fans finally got what they wanted when the famed bounty hunter appeared in the second season of The Mandalorian, which set up the character's own standalone series titled The Book of Boba Fett.
In a Twitter post, series star Wen show off her "production wrap gifts" all meant in good fun. Fans were enjoying her post as they patiently await the next season of The Mandalorian as well as the premiere of The Book of Boba Fett. The titular bounty hunter was last seen in The Mandalorian taking over Jabba's palace on Tatooine and taking the late gangster's throne with the help of Fennec. Seeing Boba take over the place he was once "employed" at shows a power move and growth for the character, finally following his own path and no longer taking orders from someone else.
Despite Boba Fett being a fan-favorite character, he didn't really do anything to prove his prowess in the original Star Wars trilogy besides looking cool. There weren't any significant fight scenes to prove his combat ability amongst the other characters, he was only seen taking orders from Darth Vader, and he was thought to have been killed by a disoriented Han Solo.
Still, fans all wanted to see more from the son of the late Jango, feeling Boba was robbed of having a compelling backstory because there was so much to work with that wasn't utilized. Besides Star Wars the games and spin-off comics, we really didn't get to see too much of this bounty hunter, so fans are hoping his standalone show delivers.
Star Wars has an amazing universe with numerous amounts of characters and worlds waiting to be explored. The storytelling potential is very deep and The Mandalorian does a good job at expanding the world by diving into other parts not yet touched in the mainline movie installments. The Book of Boba Fett has the same potential to be just as great and dive into how Boba survived.
The Book of Boba Fett will be available on Disney Plus for streaming in December 2021.
