Castlevania Fan Recreates Symphony of the Night Logo With Final Fantasy Art Style
Despite no new games releasing in several years, Castlevania remains a beloved franchise within the gaming community. Known for its tough-as-nails difficulty, complex storyline, and memorable gameplay mechanics, Castlevania is quite recognizable within the community. Now, one fan has spliced both Castlevania and Final Fantasy together to make something truly impressive.
When it comes to fan creations especially, video game crossover art is quite common. Back in January of 2021, one fan managed to insert Kratos from God of War into Hades, using the art direction and style of Hades' character designs. However, this newest piece of crossover art depicts two of the most memorable video game title art spliced together and it is quite the sight, to say the least.
A Reddit user by the name of Syakil_zd, recreated the logo for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night in the style of the Final Fantasy logo. It's impressive to see all of the different elements used, seeing how it looks like a regular logo for Final Fantasy, but also seeing the silhouette of Alucard and the shape of his different forms. It's a very nice tribute to both franchises, overall.
It's amazing to see that despite the lack of new Castlevania games, the adulation for the franchise hasn't faded. Given the success of the Netflix Castlevania series and the recent announcement of a spin-off series, it seems that Castlevania fans have a lot to look forward to. However, the lack of any new Castlevania games for some fans is quite disheartening, especially compared to the other series this piece of art was inspired by, in addition to Castlevania.
In recent years, Final Fantasy has been doing very well. With the release of Final Fantasy 15, the movies based on the game that released, as well as the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 16, there seems to be no shortage of Final Fantasy content for fans to enjoy. By comparison, many fans would agree that it's arguably a good time for a new Castlevania installment.
There hasn't been a new Castlevania game released since Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, which released back in 2014. While Konami has partnered with Bloober Team and is apparently working on a new Silent Hill project, that doesn't mean that anything new in terms of Castlevania will surface. Right now, it's impossible to know if Konami will return to Castlevania, but then again, crazier things have happened recently. The reveal of Metroid Dread during E3 2021 was certainly unexpected, so the same could potentially happen for Castlevania.
