Injustice 2 Player Takes 3 Years to Get Batman Gear Piece

Despite Warner Bros. Interactive’s Injustice 2 being almost five years old, there are still many fans who continue to patronize the fighting video game. Being a sequel to the original title launched back in 2013, with a mobile version out in the market, fans likely still play Injustice 2 for nostalgia, especially if they are big DC Comics aficionados. One such fan even shared online recently that it took them three years to finally get a piece of Injustice 2 gear specifically made for Batman.

Though the Injustice series has the typical fighting game experience in terms of gameplay, a unique feature was implemented when Injustice 2 came out in 2017. Most players will likely recall this loot-dropping system as the Gear System, wherein gear is dropped at the end of every match. Given this entire system is completely random, with different statistics being cycled around four main categories, it can take a long time for players to complete a full set of gear. Nevertheless, fans likely continued playing in order to gain a certain in-game aesthetic for their favorite DC superhero.

Recently, YouTube content creator Caboose (@CabooseEK on Twitter) shared the exciting news that they were finally able to get a Batman-specific headgear that they have been working hard to get in Injustice 2. Caboose stated that it took him three whole years of farming and continuously playing the fighting game before he was able to get the helmet to drop. Likely overflowing with excitement, Caboose even posted an entire 20-minute YouTube video that showed off how the complete Zero Year set would look like when worn by popular caped crusader Batman.

On Twitter, however, the photo Caboose shared of the helmet was titled Time Displacement Head. A commenter pointed this out stating that the headgear Caboose got was actually a lookalike of the Zero Year Batman headgear. However, Caboose replied and stated that they really just wanted the look of the gear, even if it meant not getting the complete set. Though many of Caboose’s followers were happy he finally got the gear he was looking for, most of the replies on the Twitter thread lamented the random Injustice 2 gear system. Some even shared frustration in getting a specific piece of equipment for iconic Injustice 2 characters such as Nightwing and Catwoman.

Nevertheless, it seems that the Injustice 2 community continues to keep engagement alive within its own player base. With no news about an upcoming Injustice 3, content creators such as Caboose may be the only source of entertainment for the fans of the fighting game for now.

Injustice 2 is currently playable on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
