Pokemon GO Fest 2021: How to Complete Cave Habitat Collection Challenge
There are plenty of things to do in the first day alone of Pokemon GO Fest 2021 for players that purchased a ticket. Something that can potentially take up a lot of time for players are the four collection challenges that offer rewards to those that complete them. One of these collection challenges is the Cave Habitat Collection Challenge.
All of the collection challenges for this year's Pokemon GO Fest are themed around the various habitat hours that cycle throughout July 17th. Each passing hour is themed around a different Pokemon Habitat with the spawning Pokemon in the overworld reflecting this. These habitat hours will go through their cycle from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM in players' local times while playing.
The Cave Habitat Hour causes Pokemon from deep cave environments to appear in the overworld while the hour is active. This specific hour will occur for players at 3:00 UTC, 7:00 UTC, 11:00 UTC, 15:00 UTC, 19:00 UTC, and 23:00 UTC. The reason for so many hours despite the event running from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM in local times is so that all players can experience the hours at the same time no matter the time zone.
For the Cave Habitat Collection Challenge there are ten specific Pokemon that players need to catch for its completion. These Pokemon must be caught during the event's duration, so Pokemon caught before or after will not count. The required Pokemon are:
- Sableye
- Zubat
- Roggenrola
- Gligar
- Joltik
- Ralts
- Woobat
- Beldum
- Galarian Stunfisk
- Vanillite
Players won't need to go far in order to find these Pokemon, as they will become normal overworld spawns during the Cave Habitat Hour. In order to keep the spawn rates up however, players are highly recommended to use Incense and Lure Modules. The latter is especially recommended at this time due to the Pokemon GO Fest event temporarily increasing Lure Module durations to three hours instead of the normal one hour.
If players use an Incense, they may get lucky and get a few rare Incense exclusive Cave Habitat Hour Pokemon to appear. These Pokemon are Umbreon, Gardevoir, Absol, and Galvantula. None of them are needed in order to complete the actual collection challenge, but they are still very worth catching if they appear. Players should note however that they will not appear for players that do not have a Pokemon GO Fest 2021 ticket.
Once players collect all ten Pokemon they will get their reward. This reward is made up of 1,000 Stardust, an Incense, and 20 Ultra Balls.
Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
