Skyrim Fan Carves Their Own Dragonbone Greatsword | Game Rant
While some Skyrim players prefer to use lighter weapons like swords or ranged weapons such as bows, there are those that instead prefer brute force as a method of getting things done. For this purpose, the greatsword weapon type is an excellent choice for the Dragonborn. Although its damage isn't quite as high as battle axes or warhammers, it swings a bit faster and still packs a punch.
When it comes to dealing the most damage possible with one of these things, a dragonbone greatsword is the way to go, and Redditor LongFineArt must have known that when they made a real life version of one for themselves. LongFineArt has a history of making impressive artwork and crafts, often related to Skyrim. This dragonbone greatsword has an interesting backstory, however, as he obtained the materials required to make it in an unorthodox way. Regardless of the process behind its creation, the final product looks incredible, and fans are loving the detail that was put into it.
LongFineArt explains that this dragonbone greatsword was carved by hand from a piece of wood he found in a dumpster. When one thinks of where to find dragon bones, that probably isn't the first place that comes to mind, but it works nonetheless. His outfit is similarly outlandish, featuring Dragonborn helmet horns and what appears to be a fuzzy brown onesie. There are three pictures in total shared on the Reddit post below, each showing the sword in more detail than the last. The second picture in particular is interesting, as it shows the carving on the hilt of the sword close up.
Fans of Skyrim and its many weapons seem very impressed by his work, noting that LongFineArt is a very talented wood carver. Many in the comments would love to have one for themselves, to which LongFineArt responds that he does take commissions. Readers that are interested in getting their own wooden dragonbone greatsword should DM LongFineArt on Reddit or one of his other social media platforms, as it's possible he may be willing to make more for fans that are willing to pay.
In the few hours since it was posted on the Skyrim subreddit, the sword has already garnered over 8,000 upvotes and several awards. Those interested in seeing more of LongFineArt's work can find it on his profile on Reddit or check out his other social media platforms. There is also a link to his Etsy store with more crafts in the description of LongFineArt's Reddit profile page.
Skyrim is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
