Red Dead Redemption 2 Fan Shows What A Young Version Of Uncle Would Look Like
Most fans and players of Rockstar Games's Red Dead Redemption 2 have likely met the cast of characters when they were of a certain age. Aside from playing as a younger John Marston in RDR2, most of Dutch van der Linde's gang were already middle-aged or older. Given this, many are likely curious about what the members of the gang would have looked like in their younger years. A Red Dead fan provides the community with this opportunity, creating artwork that depicts Uncle, one of the older gang members, as a young man.
Many in the cast of Red Dead Redemption 2 have recurring roles in the game because it is a prequel, even though it was released almost a decade after the original Red Dead. While players experienced RDR2 through the eyes of new protagonist Arthur Morgan, long-time fans were likely curious about the distinct events that instigated the beginning of the original Red Dead Redemption. This may involve learning more about the minor side characters in the series, including the forever-ailing Uncle.
On Reddit, user daking2007 shared another of their fan artworks that depicted Uncle in his younger years. Posting their original artwork beside what Uncle looked like in Red Dead Redemption 2, the community could clearly see the lack of signs of aging in daking2007's recreation. This included making Uncle's beard fuller and darker, removing the white in his eyebrows, and giving him a more plump, and youthful face shape. The Redditor even gave the post the title "Youncle," which is a play on the words young and uncle.
Daking2007's post has an upvote of 98%, as fans on the thread seemed to enjoy seeing a younger version of the Red Dead Redemption 2 gang member. Many jokingly said that this was Uncle before the Lumbago got him, which was what the character used to say was ailing him. Most fans will likely recall Uncle as one of the members in camp that was always drunk, and virtually useless. However, Uncle did get his shining moment in the base Red Dead Redemption game, wherein he played a big part in aiding John Marston.
This is not the first time that the Redditor posted younger versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 characters. He also shared artwork of a young Dutch van der Linde, and Susan Grimshaw, among others. Hopefully, daking2007 is still making these types of art when another Red Dead title rolls around, as this would be something that the community would likely appreciate and enjoy.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
