The Witcher: Monster Slayer - 10 Best Items & How To Craft Them
The gameplay and crafting mechanics of The Witcher: Monster Slayer are not much different from the mainline games. The mobile Witcher game is home to many familiar items from the Witcher franchise, all craftable from Monster parts and foraged ingredients.
There are three main types of craftable items in The Witcher: Monster Slayer: Potions, Bombs, and Oils. Each can be equipped before a fight in the Preparation Phase of combat, but you'll need to make sure to get crafting ahead of time, or go without – something that's not recommended with the game's tougher one-and-two skull enemies.
10 Moon Dust
Moon Dust is a special type of bomb that deals 525 Silver damage as well as a flat 800 damage from Kinetic Energy. It's a good idea to have a few of these on you at all times to use against tough Monsters (not Humans or Non-Humans) who take extra damage from the Silver type.
Moon Dust can be crafted with 10 Powdered Monster Tissue, 7 Bundles of Herbs, and 3 Roots. It can also be bought from the in-game shop for 300 Gold in a pack of three.
9 Squall Potion
The Squall potion is a powerful damage boost for certain weather conditions. When it's rainy outside in real life, Squall will increase damage from both Swords and Signs by 75%. While type-specific oils are great for Sword attacks, Squall affects just about all damage output by the player.
Squall must be unlocked in the Alchemy Skill Tree before it is craftable. After this, it takes 7 Powdered Monster Tissue, One Elemental Remains, and 7 Bundles of Herbs. It can also be bought from the in-game shop in a pack of three for 60 Gold.
8 Grapeshot
Grapeshot is another bomb that has a very similar effect to Moon Dust. When lobbed at an enemy, it will deal 525 Steel damage, though, in addition to its flat 800 Kinetic Damage. It's a good idea to keep a few of these in your inventory just in case you come across a rare Monster weak to Steel-type attacks.
Grapeshot can be crafted for 10 Powdered Monster Tissue, 7 Bunches of Herbs, and 3 Roots. It can also be bought from the in-game store for 300 Gold in a pack of three.
7 Cat Potion
The Cat potion is one of the most useful potions for Witchers looking to take on powerful enemies around their home late at night – sometimes it's just not possible to go out for a walk when it's dark out. This potion will increase Sword and Sign damage by 75% at night. It's similar to Squall, but more useful as it doesn't rain often in many places.
Cat can be crafted for 5 Powdered Monster Tissue, 3 Herbs, and One Root, but it must be unlocked in the Alchemy Skill Tree prior to being available. It can also be bought in a pack of three for 60 Gold.
6 Dimeritium Bomb
Dimeritium is the catch-all bomb that just about ruins the day of any Monster happened to be hit by it, though some are more affected than others. It deals flat damage like other bombs, but instead of a special type of damage added on, the Dimeritium Bomb makes tough enemies weak to all types of attacks.
A Dimeritium Bomb can be crafted from the get-go for 10 Powdered Monster Tissue, 7 Bunches of Herbs, and 3 Roots. It can also be bought from the in-game shop for 300 Gold in a pack of three.
5 Specter Oil
In general, Oils are not necessarily hard to make – they just require a few ingredients harvested from that enemy type. Specters tend to be much rarer than other enemy types, though, making Specter Oil hard to come by. Like other type-specific oils, this will increase the player's Melee Damage against Specters by 100%.
Specter Oil is crafted with 5 Relict Remains, 3 Bundles of Herbs, and 2 Roots. It can also be bought from the in-game store in a pack of three for 150 Gold.
4 Dancing Star
Dancing Star sounds like a disco anthem, but it's quite the opposite. This Bomb deals 800 Kinetic Damage in addition to 525 Fire Damage, which can be extremely effective against certain enemies but is generally a fair bet against most foes in The Witcher: Monster Slayer.
The Dancing Star Bomb can be crafted for 10 Powdered Monster Tissue, 7 Bunches of Herbs, and 3 Roots. It can also be bought from the in-game shop in a pack of three for 300 Gold.
3 Petri's Philter
Petri's Philter is an equippable potion that increases the intensity of the player's Signs by 100% (doubling their damage and effects, essentially). This turns Igni into an inferno, Aard into a long silencing ability, and Quen into a guaranteed damage absorber.
Petri's Philter can be crafted for 5 Powdered Monster Tissue, 3 Bunches of Herbs, and One Root. It can also be bought from the in-game shop for 60 Gold in a pack of three.
2 Relict Oil
Relict Oil, like Specter Oil, is one of the harder Oils to come across in The Witcher: Monster Slayer. Relict-type enemies (Crones, Imps, Sylvans, etc) are rarer than others, and this oil makes them take 100% extra melee damage when it is applied to the player's sword of choice.
Relict Oil can be crafted with 5 Elemental Remains, 3 Bundles of Herbs, and 2 Roots. It can also be bought from the in-game shop in a pack of three for 60 Gold.
1 Swift Potion
Swift is an iconic Potion of The Witcher franchise and tends to be one that players learn pretty early into a playthrough. In The Witcher: Monster Slayer, it increases the player's Vitality by 50%. Swallow, a similar potion, is not quite as effective as it only recovers 1% of HP per second during a fight, which rarely goes on for longer than 20 or 30 seconds.
Swift can be crafted for 5 Powdered Monster Tissue, 3 Bundles of Herbs, and One Root. It can also be bought from the in-game store for 60 Gold for a pack of three.
