Mortal Kombat 11 Adds Select Classic Skins, But There's A Catch

Mortal Kombat 11 has released some beautiful, classic skins for some of the female ninjas from the lineup of playable characters, like some new Skarlet skins. However, there have been some complaints about the outfits, and probably not for the reasons anyone might expect.

Originally released in March 2019, Mortal Kombat 11 has been adding content almost continuously since its release; Ed Boon did say that MK11 would be updated for years to come. One of those updates was the Klassic Arcade Ninja pack, allowing players to play with Scorpion and Noob Sailbot in their classic outfits. Many fans were hoping that traditional female ninja outfits would be joining them soon, and yesterday, their hopes came to life. The Female Ninja Skins were added to the store, but not all of them were there.

Along with the holiday-themed announcement for MK11, the outfits began being released yesterday. Outfits will be released one each day (all of them will be available at least two times in the next two weeks), and Skarlet's was up first. But many fans who went to the shop noticed a big discrepancy. The announcement had Skarlet in a mono-colored red outfit, but a black-and-red outfit was what was appearing in the store:

So where was the promised outfit? When some customers complained on Twitter that the wrong Skarlet outfit appeared, wasting their precious Time Krystals (Mortal Kombat's premium currency), Warner Brothers answered in a way that rubbed some fans the wrong way.

"There are 2 bundles per kharacter. Skarlet's next one will be in the store on Sunday!"

And that was all fans got: a vague message about each character having two skins available on different days, each for a very limited time. There was no schedule released for which specific outfits would be released on which days. Also, while Mortal Kombat 11 is currently on sale for PC, these skins are not available for PC MK fans at all. This has disappointed a lot of fans, especially those on PC and those who bought the Skarlet skin thinking it was something different than it turned out to be.

For fans looking for specific skins for specific characters, Warner Brothers and NetherRealm gave fans a very vague calendar. While the characters are noted, which of the two skins packs will be available for that date is not listed:

Mortal Kombat 11 is available for PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
