League of Legends’ Volibear and Fiddlesticks will both be reworked next year
Two long-serving League of Legends champions are set to receive complete overhauls next year after winning (or maybe losing) a community vote. Earlier today, developer Riot Games announced that Volibear and Fiddlesticks will both receive visual gameplay updates (VGUs) in 2020.
Earlier this month, Riot announced a public vote to determine which of five classic champions the community would most like to see reworked next year. Shyvana, Nocturne, and Dr Mundo were all on the ballot list, but Volibear came away on top with a 24.69% share. Extremely close behind, however, on 24.42%, was Fiddlesticks, and as a result lead champion designer Ryan ‘Reav3’ Mireles says that both champions will receive updates in the not too-distant future.
In China, it’s worth noting that Shyvana secured a 24.67% share. While that wasn’t enough to let her win outright, it was a commanding result in a major region. As a result, Mireles says that Riot will “keep her in mind when we choose a champion to update after Volibear and Fiddlesticks.”
