Pokemon GO Adding New Legendary Raid Boss | Game Rant
Pokemon GO, the hugely popular mobile game that just reached $3 billion in lifetime revenue, has just unveiled its latest upcoming legendary raid boss for the month of November.
Pokemon GO is just now winding down from its annual Halloween event (though it doesn't close until 1 pm PST on November 1, technically), which came with its own legendary raid boss for players to tackle. Anybody looking to catch the fan-favorite Dark-type Pokemon Darkrai only has a few more hours to do it; after that, a new Steel-and-Fighting-type legendary boss will take its place.
Beginning on Monday, November 4 at 1 pm PST, the Pokemon Cobalion will arrive on Pokemon GO's five-star raids as a legendary boss. In an announcement via the official Pokemon GO website, the dev team shared a statement on its upcoming change--and tips to wrangle the Pokemon--writing, "Cobalion, the Iron Will Pokémon, is coming to five-star raids! This Steel- and Fighting-type Legendary Pokémon is said to have a body and heart of steel, so it’s in your favor to challenge it with Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type Pokémon." After the event begins on Monday, players will have until Tuesday, November 26 at 1 pm PST to participate and perhaps catch Cobalion.
The introduction of Cobalion also allowed the Pokemon GO team to tease some more upcoming legendary bosses. "Cobalion is part of a trio of Pokémon said to have challenged humans in order to protect other Pokémon," the announcement added. "The three are rarely seen apart, so look forward to meeting the other two soon! In the meantime, GO build up your teams in preparation for battle." The other two Pokemon referred to in the announcement are, of course, Virizion and Terrakion from the Swords of Justice trio--so players can keep an eye out for their arrival as well as Pokemon GO continues plans to expand even further in 2020.
So, it looks like November will have ample special opportunities for Pokemon GO players, between the new legendary boss and a Community Day event midway through the month. In the meantime, interested players should make sure their Machamp, Arcanine, and similar Pokemon are ready to take on Cobalion when the time comes.
Pokemon GO is available now for mobile iOS and Android devices.
