Apex Legends Season 4 Launch Trailer Reveals Revenant | Game Rant
Respawn Entertainment has released the launch trailer for Apex Legends Season 4. Season 4 will start on Tuesday, February 4, and will be mixing up the meta with some great new content. The Season 4 launch trailer teases some of this content, namely the new Legend named Revenant. It also provides a deeper look into Revenant's backstory, making for an action-packed and violent video. There may even be a teaser for a future Apex Legends character in the trailer.
The trailer starts with a man shaving. The mysterious man receives a target dossier, revealing them to be a hitman. Cut to the target, surrounded by bodyguards, meeting his wife and daughter in a high-rise restaurant for dinner. The new Apex Legends character, Revenant, then smashes through the window before killing the bodyguards, the target, and his wife. Only the daughter escapes. It's then revealed that the man from the start of the trailer is Revenant, or at least what Revenant looked like before Hammond Robotics transformed him into what he is now.
According to the trailer's description, Revenant is the greatest hitman the Mercenary Syndicate has ever had. Hammond Robotics, creators of the Titans from Titanfall, somehow transformed Revenant into a mechanical monstrosity. Revenant has thus declared vengeance against the robotics company. Apparently he's also taking hits still, too. The target in the video is listed as a "Grifter" and not a member of Hammond Robotics. He, his family, and his guards are just in Revenant's way.
Revenant's intent doesn't seem like it matters much to the grifter's daughter, though. At the end of Apex Legends' Season 4 launch trailer, the daughter is shown with blood on her face staring straight into the camera. Her murdered father is lying on the ground in front of her. The implication seems clear. This girl, the daughter of Marcos Andrade, has a further role to play in Apex Legends. Perhaps the artifact she received, an object carved with what looks to be a wolve's head, is part of her character's story.
Revenant isn't the only new content coming as part of Apex Legends Season 4, of course. He's just the focus of the season's launch trailer. In addition to Revenant, new players can look forward to a brand new weapon, too. The Sentinel is a bolt-action sniper rifle, unlike any other weapon in Apex Legends. Season 4 will also be unique in another regard compared to previous seasons. The first half of the season will stay on the new map introduced in Season 3, but the second half will return to King's Canyon. Respawn is mixing things up.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
