New Resident Evil 3 Screenshots Show Off More of Jill and Nemesis
As fans wait for the opportunity to be stalked by the walking nightmare Nemesis in the Resident Evil 3 remake, any piece of media that emerges online creates a stir. Whether it's a trailer, concept art of Nemesis, or screenshots, fans will dissect any info released.
As the middle sibling stuck between titans of survival horror Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 3 often gets overlooked. The game upped the tempo of the series by introducing the always-menacing Nemesis to create constant anxiety and shook up the controls with quick turns and dodges added. This increased focus on action will be present in the Resident Evil 3 remake, and with the fresh coat of paint, perhaps the game will be able to improve its standing in the Resident Evil canon.
Today's leak offers a few more screenshots to be scrutinized, as fans wait hungrily for more official word from Capcom on the game. In the pair of shots, Jill faces off against Nemesis wielding a shotgun in one image, and in the second she appears to have gained a bit of distance between herself and the hulking monstrosity with a couple of scratches on her shoulder.
The area where these screenshots are from looks to be out in the streets of Raccoon City. In the original game, Jill passes through an area with scaffolding up, and this looks very similar. The remake appears to spicing things up with more fire in the construction site, but Capcom's team will be changing some things up, so it's not a given this is the same area as the original.
The Resident Evil 2 remake struck a great balance between paying homage to the original, while modernizing elements of the game to fit in 2019. With Resident Evil 3 there is plenty to work with to make the game feel fresh in 2020, including an overhaul of Nemesis' AI. Experienced players knew exactly where and when Nemesis would show up on the scene, so if player paranoia can be heightened with improved AI, Nemesis could cause more than a few fans to lose some sleep.
With only about a month to go before the game is released, fans are looking for more extensive previews and gameplay trailers to drop soon. Failing that, they will have to be content to re-watch the last Resident Evil 3 trailer, which extensively featured Nemesis, while they wait.
The Resident Evil 3 remake will be released on April 3rd for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
