Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fans Are Making Witcher Content in the Game
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is officially a hit with fans, who got busy setting up homes and towns as soon as the game launched on March 20. Not only are fans playing with the features provided, but they're also crafting designs of their own.
While Animal Crossing: New Horizons offers a ton of different options for clothing and more, fans are taking things a step further and creating custom clothing, often while also paying homage to other favorite games. That's why assets based on Netflix's The Witcher is now popping up in New Horizons.
Players are finding ways to work The Witcher into nearly every aspect of the game; some custom-made clothing includes a version of Jaskier's jacket and one of Yennefer's many black dresses from the series. Not only that, but Yennefer of Vengerberg and Jaskier themselves have been re-created in New Horizons, along with Ciri and the White Wolf himself, Geralt of Rivia. One user turned the symbol for the School of the Wolf into their town flag, while others have incorporated some popular music into the game, even making their town tune Jaskeir's "Toss a Coin to Your Witcher."
Based on players' screenshots, it looks like Geralt is getting a new career as a bug-catcher rather than a monster-hunter. Maybe it's not quite as lucrative, but it's still an adventure! New Horizons advertises allowing players to move to a deserted island and "create [their] own paradise," and if paradise for some involves a tribute to their favorite new Netflix show, then more power to them.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on the Switch, and The Witcher can be streamed on Netflix.
