Twitch Prime Members Are Getting Six Free Games in May
Twitch is increasing its generosity for Twitch Prime subscribers in the month of May, which certainly won't be refused. Today the streaming platform announced that it will be delivering six free to Twitch Prime subscribers, which is a step down from April's seven games but is still a solid haul. Twitch announced the news Thursday via a press release. Twitch Prime subscribers still have a short time left to claim April's games, which include the remastered Turok and RPG Earthlock.
Headlining May's games is Snake Pass, the puzzle platformer Snake Pass, in which players control a snake named Noodle to coil around an incredible array of obstacle course-like levels. Each level in Snake Pass is filled with various collectibles, each of which is hidden away in a difficult-to-reach location. The controls are intentionally frustrating at first, since snakes don't have arms and can't jump. But that's what makes Snake Pass fun. With practice, Snake Pass players will be coiling their snake through some impossible terrain.
After Snake Pass, there are three recent releases that all came out in 2019. Urban Trial Playground is a stunt racing game with motorbikes that many would find similar to Ubisoft's Trials series. Fractured Minds is a short artistic first-person game developed by 17-year-old Emily Mitchell intended to explore mental health issues and anxiety. AVICII Invector, the most recent release of May's free games, is a musical game from the DJ of the same name featuring 25 of AVICII's biggest songs.
The final two games, Pankapu and The Little Acre, are two indie games with a lot of charm. Pankapu is an action platformer that's one part Rayman and another part Dust: An Elysian Tail. The Little Acre is a classic point and click adventure game with hand-animated settings and characters. Needless to say, May's games are highly diverse in genre.
In order to download May's Twitch Prime free games, players will have to be subscribers to Amazon or Twitch Prime first. Games can be claimed through the Twitch website, but to download and play them requires subscribers to download the standalone Twitch client.
Twitch Prime provides subscribers with many different benefits, with free games each month just being the start. Subscribers also get one free month of subscription to a Twitch channel every single month. There are also some exclusive emoji and chat color options. Unfortunately, there are still ads on Twitch streams whether you're a subscriber or not. Look forward to the new free games as May starts.
