Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Story Arc DLC Length Detailed | Game Rant
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's Story Arc DLC will arrive after its "A New Power Awakens" DLC, which handles two "episodes" that each feature a distinctive boss battle. The first episode released only a few days ago on April 28, 2020, and saw players fighting Dragon Ball Super's God of Destruction, Beerus.
Since Beerus' episode primarily focuses on simply fighting him, it doesn't take very long to beat — probably only around an hour, give or take; it depends on what level the player decides to enter the DLC at. But a new leak reveals that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's Story Arc DLC will be much longer.
It comes from Ken Xyro, a Twitter user well-known for accurately reporting Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot news. He claims that the episode will be about 8 to 12 hours long, which — as he also notes in his tweet — is about the same length as one of the story arcs featured in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's base game, so arcs like the Saiyan Saga, Frieza Saga, etc.
Precisely what saga the Stroy Arc DLC will cover remains a mystery, but A New Power Awakens gives fans a pretty good guess. The events caused by Goku and Vegeta's first contact with Beerus make up the very first arc of Dragon Ball Super, so most fans are relatively sure that the following DLC will cover Super's succeeding storylines.
For example, the contents of A New Power Awakens' episode 2 also remain a mystery. But since Frieza's Ressurection Arc comes after Beerus', it's more than likely that the next DLC will focus on him. The fact that Frieza and his Golden Form is the only major "boss battle" in this arc makes this prediction reliable.
Following Frieza's resurrection is The Universe 6 Tournament Saga, which sees Goku and Vegeta in battles against many different opponents while also introducing new characters. It also details Goku obtaining another "new" powerup, as he adds his Kiaoken technique onto his Super Saiyan Blue state. In other words, the saga is a perfect fit for the Story Arc DLC, if it plans to be as long as a normal story.
The release date of the Story Arc DLC hasn't come out yet, nor has the release date for the second episode of A New Power Awakens, but both pieces will arrive sometime this year.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
