10 Impossible Platinum Trophies To Get | Game Rant
We all love a good platinum trophy. It’s something to show off gaming skills, makes everyone feel better about themselves, and maybe even make a friend or two jealous. And while a lot of platinum trophies can be as simple as playing and beating the game to earn, others? Not so much.
There are trophies out there that are made to test the skills, grit, determination, and focus of gamers ,while others are there to torment players looking for a challenge. These are ten platinum trophies that are virtually impossible to get.
10 Super Street Fighter IV
Starting strong with Super Street Fighter IV ,one of the most played Street Fighter games in the series with a huge fan base. What makes this a unique Street Fighter game is how undoubtedly difficult it is to unlock the platinum trophy.
It’s also a game with multiple trophies that most haven’t unlocked, which isn’t a surprise, as the game will ask players to complete multiple increasingly difficult challenges with over 30 characters in the roster, or ask players to play and win 10 ranked matches in a row. Many have tried and failed to earn the platinum and honestly, who can blame them.
9 Mirror’s Edge
The first Mirror’s Edge was an incredible game with interesting characters, an intriguing plot, and most notably, incredibly fun gameplay that implements a parkour system.
Trying to acquire the platinum trophy, however, will strip all the fun away from this game, as it asks players to have a high level of precision and skill in transversal, like timing their jumps well and sliding at the right time. It also asks players to virtually speed run the game, with a trophy needing a time trial star rating of 50. Only the most dedicated amongst the dedicated fans can achieve this trophy, and even then they might not get it.
8 Super Meat Boy
Super Meat Boy is already a game known for its mind-numbing, hair-splitting difficulty.
To get this platinum, players will not only have to survive and get through each and every level of the game, but also beat every separate hunk of the Dark World without dying, clear all Warp zones, and attain a hundred percent completion amongst other hard-as-nails trophies to get. At a point we begin to wonder if any of this is worth it at the end.
7 Star Wars Battlefront
While the game is plagued with a slew of online trophies to collect, new players eyeing the Star Wars Battlefront’s trophy list won't exactly feel threatened until they realize that in order to get the platinum trophy they'll need to perform tasks such as reach max rank in the game, run over 25 enemies with an AT-ST, beat the missions on master difficulty without dying.
Not to mention other offline trophies that will require players to go through the game's survival and battle modes on the hardest difficulty. The worst part is most of the game is online, so anything could happen.
6 The Evil Within
Another example of a platinum trophy that looks easy enough to get at first, until one single trophy manages to ruin the whole thing.
The trophy in question deviously asks the player to complete The Evil Within in the infamous Akumu mode, which is the most difficult mode. It includes killing players in one hit, making enemies spawn in higher numbers, and also changing up entire levels to make the playthrough much more unpredictable. A player would not only be brave, but also blatantly masochistic for even trying to attain this platinum.
5 Titan Souls
Yet another game with a difficult trophy list that’s ultra-challenging but also pretty standard. To earn the platinum for Titan Souls, players will have to accomplish tasks such as beating the game in under twenty minutes, beating the game without running and dodging, beating the game without dying, beating the game without dying with the difficulty being set to hard, and much more.
Couple all these with its one-hit kill bosses on higher difficulties, and most trophy hunters will struggle to keep their sanity with this one.
4 N++
Players of N++ already know how challenging the game is on a normal day, but trying to earn the platinum is a whole other level difficulty on its own.
While players have your usual no death runs and flawless tasks, the main problem players will be dealing with is completing the vast amount of stages under brutal conditions to get the best rank possible to even come near to earning the platinum. The game not only asks for consistency, but perfection as well.
3 Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus
When it comes to games with difficult platinum trophies, Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus is perhaps the most popular on this list. This is mostly due to its singular trophy which players can only earn from completing the game on the “Mein Leben” difficulty.
This is a permadeath mode with a single life without checkpoints or manual saves, and It has to be done in a single sitting. This is also notably the hardest Wolfenstein game to date so earning this platinum will be a herculean task to accomplish.
2 Max Payne 3
There are a lot of difficult trophies in Max Payne 3, with the hardest one being ‘The Shadows Rushed Me" trophy, which not only asks the player to beat the game in one sitting with a single life, but also to do it within a time limit. The game provides a minute at the start, and taking headshots and kills adds to the time.
Players will have to keep doing this throughout the entire game with, again, a single life, which makes earning this trophy not only daunting, but nerve-wracking as well.
1 Call Of Duty: Black Ops Declassified
Call Of Duty: Black Ops Declassified was one of the few games on the PS Vita when it launched back in November of 2012. It also launched with a list difficult trophies for players to unlock which includes beating a mission without taking any damage and killing eight targets with four bullets or less.
The latter is where most of the issue stems from as the controls are shoddy, stiff, and unresponsive making this a platinum much harder than it's supposed to be.
