Borderlands 3: 10 Must-Have Skills For The Siren, Ranked
When Borderlands 3 released, many people flocked to the new siren character, Amara. Soon, build after build for the character started to come forth all offering insane amounts of damage that could one-shot bosses and make ordinary psychos look like children. It is safe to say that Amara is one of the fan favorites for the new game.
With the addition of an increased level cap and class mods that put others to shame, Amara has become more powerful than ever before, but some people may still be struggling to make a build for her or maybe haven't tried her out yet. For that reason, we are explaining some of the must-have skills for the character so you can phasecast your way through hoards of Calypso Twin followers.
10 Guardian Angel
Guardian Angel is a skill that comes in late in Amara's brawl skill tree, but it is amazing for anyone who is new to the character or has a build that lacks survivability. This skill allows Amara to rise like a phoenix from fight for your life and get an automatic second wind. If that wasn't useful enough, the skill also releases a nova that deals damage to all surrounding enemies. Any newer player will welcome this skill and even veteran players add this skill to their list for builds that need the extra survivability.
9 Personal Space
Amara is a natural brawler and Personal Space is a skill that speaks to that part of her. This skill allows her to gain increased gun damage the closer she gets to an enemy. While this only works with Amara's weapons, many people have included this skill in melee builds to give that extra punch when they feel like breaking out the shotgun instead of the good ol' fisticuffs. This skill is also very useful for builds such as the speed builds that have become popular since the inclusion of the Spiritual Driver class mod.
8 Helping Hands
You have watched the trailer for Borderlands 3 and have seen the six arms that Amara can create. Well, this skill uses those arms to their full potential and gives Amara damage reduction from all incoming damage after using her action skill. This is extremely useful in any build to increase survivability. Plus, there are some builds that can be done that allow for you to keep using Amara's action skill over and over resulting in constant damage reduction. When combined with Guardian Angel, any build becomes extremely tanky.
7 Samsara
Coming back to the Spiritual Driver class mod, Samsara is a skill that is extremely useful when used in conjunction with it. This skill makes it so that whenever Amara deals damage she gains stacks of Samsara that increase her gun damage and gives her health regeneration. You may be wondering how this works with Spiritual Driver.
Well, Spiritual Driver causes Amara's action skill to damage herself. That damage counts for Samsara and gives you increased damage and health regeneration almost constantly. The combination is something that will allow you to stay alive through even the most brutal psycho attacks.
6 Mindfulness
This is another skill that works amazingly with the Spiritual Driver class mod and is the bread and butter of any Amara speed build. This skill makes Amara gain increased movement speed and shield regeneration delay, but the movement speed is where the power comes from. For those who don't know, the Spiritual Driver class mod increases Amara's damage based on how fast she is moving and since it also makes her action skill damage herself, she gains insane damage while running around like a speed demon.
5 Sustainment
This is another skill that can drastically change the survivability of any Amara build. With this skill, Amara gains life steal any time she deals elemental damage to an enemy. Since Amara is clearly built for elemental damage output, you should be using elemental weapons anyway which makes this skill a necessity. Some weapons clearly outshine others with this skill. One of the most notable is the Brainstormer shotgun. With its ability to chain lightning to all nearby enemies, Sustainment will kick in and give you all of your health back almost instantly. One cannot express how much this skill can save your life.
4 Wildfire
Wildfire is an amazing skill that can seriously help with crowd control when the psychos become a bit too much for the normal vault hunter to handle. Wildfire makes it so whenever Amara projects elemental damage on an enemy, it has a chance to spread to nearby enemies. Many areas in Borderlands 3 have large groups of enemies that can easily tear down your health but this skill can help bring the hurt back to them as they usually like to cross paths or stand close to one another.
3 Allure
Allure isn't necessarily a skill but a skill augment. It alters Amara's action skill so that it creates a singularity that pulls enemies in. While many Amara builds focus on not using her action skills, but rather using them against a surface so that it immediately returns, this ability is still extremely useful when dealing with large amounts of enemies.
If you happen to feel a little overwhelmed, this can throw the enemies, literally, and help you fall back to replenish your shield. Not just that, but any weapon that can spread the hurt with elemental damage can function a little better when enemies are grouped together,
2 Wrath
Invoke the Wrath of Amara and everyone will be punished. This skill increases Amara's gun damage by a substantial twenty percent when maced out which is a great increase. The reason that this skill is so great though is due to it increasing Amara's gun damage by an additional twenty percent whenever she uses her action skill. This kind of damage increase can really help you take control of the enemies and make them wish they had never messed with you in the first place.
1 Glamour
Glitz and Glamour come with the life of a famous Siren. The Glamour can be a little overwhelming though because this skill is actually an action skill augment that causes enemies to get confused whenever they are affected by Amara's action skill. This ability, like Allure, can be a real lifesaver for any build that needs a little more survivability. If you find yourself going down a fair amount, try equipping this skill on your Amara and it will give you a few seconds to regain your composure before throwing down with the Calypso Twins.
