Crysis Remastered Gameplay Reveal Happening Soon | Game Rant
Since the announcement that Crytek's famed first-person shooter Crysis would be getting a remaster for the current generation, fans have eagerly been awaiting news about the new version. Crysis Remastered was officially announced with a teaser trailer in April that gave little away, but gameplay footage is set to be revealed later this week.
The original 2007 Crysis was well known as the game that would melt computers. It was ahead of its time with stunningly realistic graphics, lifelike AI, and a nanosuit full of super-powers that set it apart from the average shooter. Sequels quickly followed the success of the first game, but with seven years passing since Crysis 3 fans began to wonder if Crysis 4 would ever be a reality. It turns out Crytek has been working on a new Crysis, but it will be complete remaster of the original game for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The Crysis YouTube page has started a countdown for the official gameplay trailer premiere, set to be revealed on Wednesday, July 1 at 12:00 pm EST. There has been no official release date or price point announced for the game but more details may be revealed following the trailer premiere. The video description also mentions that preorders will be available soon, meaning the release can't be too far away. You can watch the trailer when it drops on Wednesday below.
The Crysis Remastered teaser trailer gave little away, simply showing a shot of the protagonist, Nomad, with a 'coming soon' tag. Considering this is a remaster and not a remake, no new footage should be expected from the trailer, but a look at the updated graphics 13 years on from the original will hopefully make up for it.
The original Crysis game has never been made available for the latest consoles so it's an exciting development for fans to be able to dive back into the classic game. Remasters of previous games are a trend at the moment following the success of Dark Souls and the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. With Crytek returning to their prodigy it's possible the remaster could be paving the way for a Crysis 4 announcement. Whether it will continue to melt hardware is yet to be determined.
Crysis Remastered is coming soon for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
