World of Warcraft: Classic Ahn'Qiraj Opening Date Announced

World of Warcraft: Classic is finally bringing back one of its most iconic and beloved world events, the the Ahn'Qiraj world event. This is an absolutely massive event which will see players all across the server working together towards one seemingly insurmountable common goal.

The Ahn'Qiraj world event first went live in January of 2006 and was widely considered the best world event in the game. Now, more than 14 years later, fans are going to relive it in World of Warcraft: Classic. This means that players for the Alliance and the Horde will have to put their differences aside to open the gates of Ahn'Qiraj.

This server-wide world event begins on July 28th and will push players to their limits. A massive amount of supplies must be gathered by all the players on the server in order to trigger a huge, ten-hour battle to finally open the gates of Ahn'Qiraj.

After opening them, players will gain access to two raids, the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj, a 20 person raid, and the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, which requires 40 people and is considerably more difficult. Apart from World Bosses, the final boss of this raid, C'Thun, will be the most challenging enemy available in World of Warcraft: Classic, but the loot makes it all worthwhile.

World of Warcraft: Classic is available now for PC.
