Dr Disrespect's Twitch Ban Reportedly Permanent | Game Rant
Dr Disrespect has been a fairly controversial streamer in the past, but this might have been his last strike. He's been banned from Twitch and this time it is reportedly permanent.
Fellow streamer ShannonZKiller posted in a now-deleted tweet earlier on Friday that her own sources tell her "Doc is indeed done, and not just on Twitch." She adds that she knows the reason why the ban is (reportedly) permanent, but is unable to elaborate. According to her, the reason behind Dr Disrepect's ban is serious.
ShannonZKiller has a few more tweets on her page speculating on the ban, however, Dr Disrespect's account has been silent since June 25 as of now. Shannon commented that if the ban were for something "minor" like a copyright violation, Doc would have probably tweeted about it. While she doesn't say outright what the ban is for in any more of her recent tweets up until now, Shannon hinted that it was "something off platform" that got Doc mysteriously banned.
The tweet was only up for an hour before Shannon deleted it, after saying people weren't interested in hearing about the ban being permanent if she wasn't giving them a reason. Some of the commentators on the original post accused her of what she called "clout chasing," which led to the deletion and her thanking her viewers for getting her to delete. It doesn't look like Shannon will open up about the reason behind the ban. If people are going to know why Doc might not come back to Twitch, they'll have to stay tuned into other sources.
Although he’s had his fair share of controversy and already been banned before, Dr Disrespect is hugely popular with fans and even announced that he’d be giving all his June earnings on Twitch to charity. Many people with large platforms on Twitch and YouTube are currently giving donations and exposure to racial injustice in the United States, but not everyone is giving an entire month’s worth of money.
The streamer also became rarely serious on discussing the end of Mixer and said people losing their jobs en masse due to the global pandemic wasn’t a laughing matter. Of course, donating money and defending the unemployed don’t make a person perfect. Whether it’s for something game-related or a more serious real-life issue, it’s still unclear the last straw for Doc’s Twitch account was.
