Massive Evangelion Attraction Opening in Japan | Game Rant

It has been a big few years for the critically acclaimed anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. The show was released to Netflix in 2019, the first time the show was available on a streaming platform, and a special English blu-ray release was announced this year. Capping off the string of success will be the opening of a massive Evangelion statue in Kyoto.

The statue is built at Toei Kyoto Studio Park. It's a 49-foot tall Evangelion Unit-01, meant to replicate the mechs that fans will remember from both the show and the series of games the show spawned. There will be two photo spots open for visitors to get their pictures taken.

A series of photos put the massive size of the statue into perspective, with three people able to stand side by side in the Evangelion's hand. Visiting the statue in person will allow players to truly understand how Hammond from Overwatch feels.

Kyoto Studio Park said this attraction is the first of its kind, and it will allow people to experience what it's like to pilot an Evangelion. Now, it should be noted that the statue doesn't move, so it won't be truly like piloting a mech, but still, it's the closest fans can get outside of No Man's Sky

Once the world starts to re-open, Neon Genesis Evangelion fans are going to have to start planning trips to the statue. The only thing that could make it better, is if they added a Mudkip mech next to it.
