New Pokemon Snap: All Pokemon Confirmed So Far | Game Rant
Many Pokemon fans were pleasantly surprised with the recent reveal of New Pokemon Snap. Like the original Nintendo 64 title, players can go on tours through islands filled with Pokemon and take photos of them. And for nostalgic fans, a brand new game with more recent Pokemon to catch is a dream come true.
In the original Pokemon Snap, there were 63 different Pokemon that could be seen and have their photos taken of them. In the recent trailer for New Pokemon Snap alone, however, there were 36 Pokemon that could be seen, meaning there will be far more to be found in the game itself.
An interesting thing to note is that in this upcoming game there seems be representation from every single generation of Pokemon in it, as seen its debut trailer and the beautiful New Pokemon Snap screenshots that released afterward. While it is extremely unlikely that every Pokemon ever released will appear, there are sure to be many fan favorites.

While all of these Pokemon are confirmed, there are additionally a few other details that could be alluding to other Pokemon that could appear under hidden circumstances. Many Pokemon required certain conditions to find in the original Pokemon Snap, so it is unlikely that there won't be hidden Pokemon in this new title as well.
For example, Sandygast is a ghost-ground type from the Alola region and the seventh generation of Pokemon. It takes the appearance of a pile of sand with a red shovel sticking out of it. This Pokemon is created from sand mounds built by children at beaches that were abandoned after they left.
In the beginning of the New Pokemon Snap trailer, a red shovel that looks a lot like Sandygast's shovel can be seen sticking out of the ground near Pikachu. In the original Pokemon Snap, interacting with Pikachu and getting him to do things was a common way to reveal hidden Pokemon. While this footage isn't final, it seems likely that Pikachu would be able to build a pile of sand with the shovel, which would then turn into Sandygast.
This could also reference another time in Pokemon Snap where a Pokemon's creation was used from their Pokedex entry. In the original Pokemon Snap, Slowpoke could evolve into Slowbro by getting a Shelder to bite its tail. According to Slowbro's Pokedex entry, this is how they traditionally evolve.
As mentioned before, Pokemon Snap isn't a stranger to getting the wild Pokemon found on the islands to evolve. While many Pokemon can be seen swimming in this trailer, Magikarp is left beached on a rock. While this might just be a reference to the pathetic nature of Magikarp, it could be a task that players need to fulfill in the game.
For those who aren't familiar with the original game, players can throw certain objects to get Pokemon to react. The first object that players usually get are the apples, which can be seen in the trailer for New Pokemon Snap. While they can be used to feed Pokemon, they can also be used as blunt objects to hit certain environment elements or even Pokemon.
It is very possible that players would be able to knock the Magikarp that's beached on the rock into the water using an apple. It is then likely that Magikarp would evolve into Gyarados thanks to the player's actions. This could also be a reference to the original Pokemon Snap, where players could encounter a Magikarp flopping around on land. Using a Pester Ball on this Magikarp will cause it to fall back into the water an evolve into Gyarados, making for a good photo.
New Pokemon Snap is in development exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
