Some Major Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Streamers Are Unhappy With Season 4
When the size of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Season 4 update was released, fans were hopeful for improvements to the already successful title. Although the new season provides fans with tons of new content, many persisting problems still plague Modern Warfare despite multiple patches.
It would be an understatement to say that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a massively popular title. Despite persisting problems, the population continues to stay so large that the servers struggle to support the game's fanbase. Despite hackers, bugs, balance problems and more, the fans continue to support Activision and Infinity Ward.
Content is not the problem with Modern Warfare's Season 4 release as it came with new game modes, new events, and three more maps. Normally this would be enough for a season, but fans have been waiting patiently for a long time. Activision and Infinity Ward have been teasing some great things for a while, and fans were expecting much more then they were given.
DrDisrepect has been critical of Modern Warfare in the past, so his disappointment is not unexpected. Rather then rage and criticism, his tweet seems like more of a concession with a hint of disappointment. He is not alone in his feelings as the overall community is almost unanimously experiencing the same feelings of discontent.
Multiple streamers have spoken out about their love for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, but they all seem to share the same level of disappointment. With no changes to the overpowered weapons in Modern Warfare, the continued use of skill-based matchmaking, and no valuable change to the experience, streamers are left in a state of despondency.
This feeling can be attributed to the constant hyping of Season 4 mixed with the reality of the release. Streamer 'CouRage' points out the constant problems within the game on Twitter frequently and the community resonates with his concerns. Responses to the above tweet have been supportive with fans mocking developer decisions within both Modern Warfare and Warzone.
While Modern Warfare's Season 4 release has some positive values within it, many fans wonder if Activision and Infinity Ward are doing enough. The game's community values Modern Warfare and Warzone highly and is willing to be patient for Infinity Ward to fix Season 4 and add in some extra content in mid-season. Only time will be able to tell if Modern Warfare can continue to grow from here, or if it may have been stunted by bad circumstances early on.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
