The Last of Us 2: All Weapon Workbench Locations | Game Rant
In The Last of Us 2, the player journeys through the post-apocalyptic world and have to survive against the enemies the game puts them up against. One of the ways that players can combat what their environment throws at them is through upgrading weapons, which can only be done at workbenches.
Throughout The Last of Us 2, there are 25 workbenches that players can find. Since there is a limited number of them, it's important that players know where to find them as they progress through their adventure. Not only will it help them against enemies in The Last of Us 2, but players who manage to find all of the workbenches are awarded an achievement trophy.
To avoid spoilers, chapter names will not be mentioned.
Patrol: The first workbench in found in the library where the player takes shelter with Dina during the snowstorm. She points out the workbench to Ellie and tells her that she can upgrade her gun here. It's impossible to miss this station's location.
Downtown: At the old FEDRA checkpoint at 5th and Marion, players will find a locked gate labeled West Gate 2. There is a ladder nearby that players can use to get onto the checkpoint wall. Around the side of it, players can find the workbench in a tent.
Capitol Hill: After passing the motel, go to the left to find a gas station a little way down the road. A garage is attached to the gas station, and after crawling under the door, players can find the workbench inside.
Capitol Hill: As players make their way toward the TV station, they'll come across a place with tripwire bombs. Players can get around them by breaking a window on the right side of the street. Inside the window is a gym, and when the player walks to the back of the building past the training dummies, they'll find the workbench.
Tunnels: After reaching the TV station, players will have to head into the subway. Ellie will comment on an acid-scoured body hung up in room lit with a weird red light. There is a ladder to the right of the body, and players can climb it to find the fifth workbench of the game.
Hillcrest: After the player enters Hillcrest, they will find a few stores they can go inside. One of these is The Rosemount clothing store across the street from Natural Remedies. Go inside the clothing store and head to the back of the shop. Players will discover a hole in the wall that will lead them to the basement where the next workbench is found.
Hillcrest: This one is easy to spot. The workbench is in the basement of the bike shop players have to pass through in order to progress the game.
The Seraphites: The player can find a locked metal gate. On the other side of the street, they'll find an apartment building they can access by climbing on a truck to get to the second floor. Across the hallway from the apartment the player initially enters, they can enter another apartment that have the workbench they're looking for.
The Seraphites: After the player gets out of the Merci building, they'll have to climb out of the pool to the other side of the road. Weston's Pharmacy is on the left side of the path the player will be on. Inside, there are a lot of supplies as well as a workbench in the back room.
Road to the Aquarium: After leaving the theater, the player will be heading through a storefront and down back hallways to get to the Aquarium. As the player is going down the hallway, they can find a blocked door on their right. Crawling under the door will lead them to a room with a workbench.
Road to the Aquarium: After making their way up a footbridge between two buildings, the player will head to the left through a crumbling multi-level department store. Once they climb to the top, the player should deviate from the game's intended path to investigate the offices behind them. The workbench is inside the offices.
The Flooded City: After leaving the mall, the player will use a boat to navigate the rest of the way through Seattle to the aquarium. Riding the rapids causes the player to have to restart the motor. At this point, look ahead for a storefront that has a blue awning which reads "Manufacturing." Get out of the boat and head into this store to find another workbench.
The Flooded City: After a bit, the player's watery path will be blocked by a gate in front of an arcade bar restaurant. Ellie needs to get out to reach the chain to raise the gate. Head into the arcade bar and find the stairs up to the second floor. To the right past the arcade games and pool table, players can locate the workbench on the right wall.
On Foot: After going through the hardware store, the player can climb up to the top of the boat shop via a rope and enter from the roof. The workbench is inside in plain sight.
The Forward Base: This workbench is also pretty noticeable. It can be discovered inside one of the green tents the player walks through on the way to Serevena Hotel.
Hostile Territory: Once the player is past the destroyed building and gotten to the top of it, they can leave and head into an abandoned Scar camp on an outdoor patio. The workbench can be found in the back corner.
The Forest: After the player leaves the forest, they can slide under the door into an auto garage. The back wall of the building houses the next workbench.
The Coast: The player can find a construction site in this area. Once they discover it, they can climb the fence and go into the building on the far right side. In there, they can find the workbench.
The Shortcut: The player heads up the rapids that have flooded the street and through a few different stores. Go through the apartment which will take the player to a roof with arrows. After this, the player will enter a cell phone store. To the left of the entrance, the workbench will be against the wall.
The Shortcut: After heading into the skyscraper, the player will go up toward the sky bridge. Go until the Prophet Shrine can be seen. The room after that will have the workbench.
Ground Zero: As the player goes through the hopsital, they'll find a few rooms that don't have power. To fix this, they need to head to the electrical room. Inside the room, there is also a workbench.
The Island: In the Logging Camp, the player will have to go through the mill on the far side of camp to keep going. This other side doesn't have any Seraphites, and ahead, the player will find a pair of buildings. The right one has a shrine, but the left one has the workbench.
The Escape: In the Old Town part of the island, there's a radio station. The player can get in from the roof and find a workbench inside.
Pushing Inland: The player will head down a Santa Barbara street where they run into some infected. A clicker is also on a rooftop, and players can climb down a hole in that same roof to enter the mansion. The workbench is hiding in the kitchen.
The Resort: The last workshop is in the resort. The player can get inside by crawling through a hole in the fence. In the center of the yard, there's a workshop building close by past a tent.
These workbenches are there to help players overcome the obstacles of the game that Naughty Dog throws their way. Though there are other ways to improve the characters' skills, upgraded weapons certainly do help.
